    Senior Product Designer - Retention

    About the job

    • We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to drive exceptional user experiences for our retention products as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.
    • ''This role offers the opportunity to shape how design drives customer experience for critical financial products at a crucial growth moment. You'll create cohesive, high-quality user experiences across all touchpoints for customers across multiple African markets, working with talented cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, data scientists, and commercial stakeholders.''

    In this role, you would be responsible for:

    • Conducting user research and translating insights into compelling design solutions for cash loans, airtime, and health insurance products
    • Creating end-to-end design experiences using established design systems while ensuring visual cohesion
    • Developing prototypes and iterating based on user testing and stakeholder feedback
    • Collaborating with Product Management and Tech teams to define UX strategy for your product area
    • Implementing and extending our design system to ensure consistency across multiple touchpoints
    • Conducting usability testing and incorporating feedback to optimize customer experiences
    • Working directly with customers to understand their needs and validate design decisions
    • Partnering with engineering teams to ensure high-quality implementation of designs
    • Contributing to design metrics that demonstrate impact on business outcomes
    • Since this role requires conducting user research in market, the ideal candidate for this role should either be based in or willing to relocate to either Kenya or Nigeria.

    Your application should demonstrate:

    • 5+ years experience in product design with a focus on customer-facing digital products
    • Strong UX/UI design skills with proven ability to create intuitive, user-centered designs
    • Extensive experience conducting user research and translating findings into design decisions
    • Proficiency in prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar) and creating interactive prototypes
    • Experience working with and contributing to design systems from concept to implementation
    • Ability to balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints
    • Strong collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams
    • Experience with end-to-end product design from research through implementation
    • Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate design decisions to diverse stakeholders
    • Experience in fintech, financial services, or insurance products is highly desirable

    • As a Telesales Representative, you will be the voice that helps customers grow, guiding them through their journey to better devices and expanded opportunities. Working directly with customers every day, you'll help them upgrade their lives by finding the right products, solving their problems, and making sure they get the most out of their M-KOPA experience.
    • At M-KOPA, helping customers upgrade isn't just about selling products—it's about opening doors to new possibilities. You will connect customers with the technology they need to improve their lives, whether that's a better phone, additional services, or access to financial tools that can help them achieve their goals.
    • Your role combines helping customers, solving problems, and finding new opportunities for growth. You'll handle customer upgrades and device requests, verify customer information to keep everyone safe, and help customers choose the right plans for their needs. You'll also sell additional products that enhance their experience and provide support when they need help with their devices or apps.

    Requirements

    • We need someone with 1-2 years of experience in a call centre or customer service environment, preferably with some sales or telesales experience. You should be comfortable talking to customers, solving their problems, and helping them find what they need.
    • You should have strong communication skills and be naturally good at building trust with customers. We're looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and pays attention to details while also being results-oriented and able to work independently.
    • Most importantly, you should be a team player who can handle multiple tasks and genuinely cares about helping customers succeed. Experience with CRM systems or mobile financial services would be great, but we're happy to train the right person.
