    IT & Media Officer Volunteer

    We are seeking a passionate and skilled IT & Media Officer Volunteer to support our organization’s technology and communications needs. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, tech-savvy, and committed to using digital tools to amplify social impact.

    Role Summary:

    Reporting directly to the Program Manager, The IT & Media Officer (Volunteer) will provide technical support for IT systems, ensure smooth operations of office technology, and manage the organization’s digital and social media presence. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on IT and communications experience while contributing to a growing nonprofit organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    IT Support & Systems Management:

    • Provide technical assistance for staff on hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Maintain IT systems, internet connectivity, and office equipment.
    • Support cyber security and data protection practices.
    • Assist with software installation, updates, and IT troubleshooting.
    • Train staff on IT tools and digital best practices.

    Media & Communications:

    • Manage HECADF’s social media platforms and online presence.
    • Design graphics, flyers, and multimedia content to promote organizational activities.
    • Support photography, videography, and documentation of field activities.
    • Update and maintain the organization’s website and newsletters.
    • Collaborate with program teams to create compelling content for advocacy and donor engagement.

     Required Qualifications & Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent in IT, Media, Communications, or a related field.
    • Basic experience in IT support, digital content creation, or media management (volunteer or paid).
    • Strong understanding of computer systems, troubleshooting, and software tools.
    • Skills in photography, videography, or graphic design are an added advantage.
    • Familiarity with social media management, Canva, Photoshop, or similar design tools.
    • Good communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
    • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a nonprofit environment.

    Program Manager

    The Program Manager Role

    As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for the overall strategic oversight and coordination of our program portfolio, ensuring all initiatives align with our vision to promote a healthy, productive, and peaceful society. The initial 3-month contract will focus on Strengthening organizational capacity and leading integrated program delivery across Social Cohesion, Nutrition, SRHR, GBV, WASH, Health, Protection, and Livelihood Skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Oversight: Define, plan, and execute program activities across HECADF\'s focus areas (Nutrition, GBV, Health, Protection, and Livelihood), ensuring alignment with our mission.
    • Performance Management: Monitor and track overall program performance, progress against key milestones, and budget utilization, reporting directly to executive leadership.
    • Team Coordination: Guide and support project teams, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring high quality, timely delivery of all project outputs.
    • Stakeholder & Partnership Management: Serve as a key liaison with local partners, community leaders, and potential donors to ensure program success and sustainability.
    • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and manage program-level risks and issues, developing effective mitigation and contingency plans.

     Required Qualifications & Skills

    • Experience: A minimum of [3+ years] of progressive experience in Program Management, ideally within the NGO/Non-profit sector, with a focus on integrated development programs (Health, Livelihood, Protection).
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring diverse, cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals.
    • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience in donor reporting and proposal development.
    • Commitment: Deep passion for HECADF\'s mission and a strong commitment to human dignity and inclusivity.
    • Location: Willingness to be based in or travel to Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria (location customizable if different).

    Contract Details

    • Duration: 3 Months (Probationary Contract).
    • Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
    • Transition: Excellent performance during the 3-month period will lead to consideration for a long-term, permanent Program Manager position.

    Human Resource (HR) Officer

    Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the HR Officer (Volunteer) will provide vital support to HECADF’s human resources management. This role is ideal for a motivated individual seeking to gain professional HR experience in a dynamic nonprofit environment, contribute to community impact, and grow their career.

     Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions, posting vacancies, and screening applicants.
    • Maintain accurate staff records, contracts, and personnel files.
    • Support onboarding, induction, and training of new staff and volunteers.
    • Ensure compliance with HECADF HR policies, safeguarding policies, and relevant labor regulations.
    • Coordinate staff welfare, performance management, and leave administration.
    • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical HR practices at all times.
    • Contribute to the improvement of HR systems and policies to meet organizational growth needs.
    • Perform other administrative and HR-related tasks as assigned.

     Required Qualifications & Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Experience in HR or administrative roles (volunteer or paid) is an added advantage.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Basic knowledge of Nigerian labor law, HR principles, and safeguarding standards.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
