    Project Manager, Scholarships - Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation

    This role is responsible to lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of international and indigenous scholarships programs aimed at supporting access to education for deserving and underprivileged students. This role ensures efficient project execution, stakeholder engagement, donor reporting, and achievement of scholarship goals for the Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Project Management & Implementation

    • Design and manage the implementation of scholarship program activities in line with project goals.
    • Develop and maintain the scholarship selection criteria and processes.
    • Supervise the student application, selection, award, and disbursement processes.
    • Maintain accurate records of all scholarship recipients and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
    • Coordinate with educational institutions and relevant government agencies.

    Monitoring & Evaluation

    • Develop and apply tools to monitor student performance and program impact.
    • Regularly collect, analyze, and report data on project performance.
    • Conduct field visits and beneficiary feedback sessions.
    • Prepare quarterly and annual reports for donors and management.

    Financial Oversight

    • Work with the finance team to manage the scholarship budget.
    • Ensure transparent and accountable use of scholarship funds.
    • Prepare financial forecasts and spending reports for the program.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions, communities, donors, and local authorities.
    • Organize outreach activities to raise awareness about the scholarship program.
    • Respond to inquiries and grievances from applicants and beneficiaries.

    Digital & Media Communication

    • Managing or contributing to social media updates, newsletters, and website content related to the program.
    • Graphical representation of the projects on website and social media channels of AAF.

    QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc or BEd) with at least a Second-Class Upper Division.
    • A Master's degree (MBA, MEd, MSc) is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing education-related projects at the national level.
    • Experience in managing international and indigenous scholarship programs will be an added advantage.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accountability.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Good communication and reporting skills, both verbal and written.
    • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Nigeria.

    Project Officer, Civil Works - Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation

    Job Purpose:

    This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating civil construction projects of AAF from planning to completion. This includes ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines while managing resources efficiently. Liaising with contractors, monitoring site activities, and providing technical support to ensure successful project execution.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Coordination and supervision of all construction projects of AAF.
    • Ensure repairs and maintenance of all AAF facilities are carried out accurately and timely across locations
      in Nigeria.
    • Liaise with the Legal team in the preparing of contracts, tracking progress and release of payments to vendors.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders in preparation of Bill of Quantities, drawings, and surveying of AAF sites.
    • Coordinate and assist in the procurement of equipment and materials for capital AAF projects.
    • Provide support in ensuring the smooth functioning of the AAF office, including maintenance of ACs, facility outlook and all related tasks.
    • Visit project sites within and outside Abuja to physically monitor the progress of ongoing projects.
    • Ensure that all projects are implemented with the utmost quality, transparency and accountability.
    • Any other tasks assigned by Management.

    QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENT

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology or a related field.
    • A relevant professional certification, COREN, NSE, is preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in construction project supervision, facility management, or infrastructure development, preferably in a multi-site environment.
    • Experience in managing vendor contracts, site inspections, and repair/maintenance coordination across multiple locations.
    • Familiarity with procurement procedures and budgeting for capital projects.
    • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accountability.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Good communication and reporting skills, both verbal and written.
    • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Nigeria.
