Your Mission

• Our Mobile Product teams are building the flagship Chipper Cash product as well as entirely new products that the fin tech ecosystem has never seen before.
• You'll work cross functionally with various designers, product owners & engineers to build and deliver exceptional user experiences and products for our 4+ million Chipper users.
• Your role within the Mobile Product team will be to help shape and build a best in class stock trading product for the African and worldwide market while also owning the mobile technical roadmap.

What You Will Be Doing

• Be an Owner: Own technical implementation and technical roadmap improvements of the Chipper Cash stocks product from the mobile side
• Join a team of geographically distributed engineers who own mobile product with the goal of shipping the most reliable & engaging mobile app in our industry
• Build intuitive and delightful customer experiences that strengthen our reputation for a trusted payments brand
• Build, test and ship customer facing features/products using tools and frameworks like React Native, Typescript, ES6, Node, and Redux
• Raise the bar for product quality by maintaining a high baseline and quickly fixing and polishing UX issues
• Design and contribute to the high-performance backend services that drive the mobile app
• Refine and practice a strong sense of design and human-centered UX
• Relentlessly pursue best in class engineering standards while still getting updates and new products into our users hands.

What You Should Have

• A passion for stocks whether it be following industry news, trading on the market or an avid user of stock based applications
• 3+ years of experience with React or React Native - this role is in React Native but no experience is needed as long as you’ve been using React on the web
• 3+ years of experience with Typescript
• Empathy for building performant experiences for folks with low end devices, low disk space and slow internet connections
• A true passion for user experience, as evidenced by an obsessive user focus, as well as an ability to render complexity down to its truest essence
• An ability to collaborate with designers, product owners, and other Chipper teams to come up with high-impact ways of quickly solving our users’ problems

What You Will Be Doing
Develop pricing strategies for:

• Current products (transfers – forex, p2p, crypto, services – airtime, bills, and data, and investments – stocks) including:
• Optimal product pricing and margin targets
• Support acquisition and engagement strategies e.g. designing experiments with promotions (working with Growth and Revenue teams)
• Drivers of pricing and other operational KPIs.
• Competitive positioning within markets, building the competitive landscape for the geographies you look after.
• New products (working with Product and Revenue teams).
• Growth initiatives by using price science techniques to measure customer price sensitivity, predict customer behaviour & conversion and optimise pricing points to achieve business financial and customer relationship objectives.

Growth and Optimization:

• Drive the execution of the pricing transformation roadmap 
• Design playbooks for pricing strategies. Drive playbook execution to achieve key business objectives/targets. Ensure playbooks are embedded in organization
• Collaborate with Ops team on regular monitoring and price optimization for products, developing mitigation strategies where required
• Build strong relationships with country teams to ensure that pricing recommendations are actionable and tailored to local markets
• Provide insights on Chipper's competitive pricing position & consumer behaviour across markets 
• Create and own reporting on pricing related KPIs
• Input into budgeting and reporting processes.

What You Should Have

• 5+ years’ experience in consumer pricing strategy, Go-to-market pricing strategy
• 2+ years’ experience in market research and competitive landscape analysis
• Fintech experience highly desirable, especially crypto products or remittances
• Familiarity with dynamics around handling multiple currencies and their impact on pricing strategies
• Good experience with statistical analysis and price/demand functions
• Strong quantitative analytical skills; Skilled professional in data wrangling, database querying, modelling and use of cloud based platforms such as snowflake and sagemaker 
• Technical experience with Excel and data visualization tools
• Comfort with fast changing environments
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Highly collaborative.
• Ability to work across multiple teams, remote offices, time-zones with flexibility and a can do attitude.

What You Should Have

• A desire to push the boundaries on what can be achieved with React Native & Typescript.
• 5+ years of experience building large scale commercial web or mobile applications using React/React Native.
• Experience in driving large, potentially cross organisational, engineering projects to success.
• Experience in CI/CD best practices to deliver software frequently and reliably
• An ability to collaborate with designers, product owners, and other Chipper teams to come up with high-impact ways of quickly solving our users’ problems
• Understanding and appreciation of development tooling.
• Empathy for building performant experiences for folks with low end devices, low storage space and slow internet connections, with ideas on how we can monitor and continuously improve this experience.
