Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance Analyst to help ensure that our web, mobile, API, and IoT-connected applications are reliable, secure, and easy to use.
The successful candidate will work closely with software developers, product stakeholders, and operational teams to understand requirements, develop test scenarios, identify defects, and verify that completed features meet both technical and business expectations.
Our products cover areas such as enterprise resource planning, inventory, accounting, manufacturing, compliance, quality management, mobile applications, and connected devices. This role requires someone who can understand real business processes—not only test buttons and screens.
Key Responsibilities
- Review product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and technical specifications.
- Identify unclear, incomplete, conflicting, or untestable requirements before development begins.
- Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, checklists, test data, and traceability records.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
- Test web applications, mobile applications, REST APIs, background processes, notifications, and third-party integrations.
- Validate complex business workflows such as sales, inventory, accounting, manufacturing, compliance, approvals, and reporting.
- Test role-based access, permissions, tenant isolation, data validation, and audit trails.
- Reproduce defects, document clear steps, attach relevant evidence, and communicate the expected and actual behaviour.
- Prioritise defects according to severity, business impact, and release risk.
- Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing before releases.
- Collaborate with developers to investigate defects and prevent recurring quality problems.
- Participate in sprint planning, requirement reviews, demonstrations, and release-readiness assessments.
- Monitor production issues and convert recurring incidents into test scenarios.
- Help establish and improve the company’s QA processes, templates, standards, and release gates.
- Gradually introduce or expand automated testing for critical and repetitive workflows.
- Prepare concise test reports and communicate release risks to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant software quality assurance or software testing experience.
- Strong understanding of the software development and testing life cycles.
- Experience testing web-based and mobile applications.
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and user-acceptance testing.
- Practical experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Insomnia, or similar tools.
- Ability to write clear, reproducible, and well-structured defect reports.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and basic SQL queries.
- Familiarity with issue-tracking and development tools such as Jira, GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the confidence to challenge unclear requirements constructively.
- Ability to work independently and manage several features or releases simultaneously.
Added Advantages
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, PHPUnit, Pest, or similar tools.
- Experience testing Laravel, React, React Native, Vue, or FilamentPHP applications.
- Familiarity with Git and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
- Experience testing multi-tenant SaaS applications.
- Knowledge of performance, security, accessibility, or load testing.
- Experience with ERP, accounting, inventory, manufacturing, compliance, quality-management, or IoT systems.
- Relevant certification such as ISTQB is beneficial but not compulsory.
What We Value
- A quality mindset that focuses on preventing defects, not only finding them.
- Curiosity about how software supports real business operations.
- Clear communication and evidence-based reporting.
- Ownership, integrity, and professional judgement.
- The ability to balance thorough testing with delivery timelines.
- Willingness to learn unfamiliar domains and technologies.
Performance Expectations
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Quality and coverage of test cases.
- Early identification of requirement gaps and release risks.
- Accuracy and clarity of defect reports.
- Reduction in defects escaping into production.
- Effectiveness of regression testing.
- Timely completion of testing activities.
- Contribution to improved QA processes and test automation.
