    Project Planning & Delivery Lead

    About the Role

    • Support the implementation of COMPANY's Sustainability Lever 1, 2, 3 and 4, the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the affiliate Biodiversity Action Plan projects.
    • Supervise a team of project engineers and a planner for the effective execution and delivery of Social Development and sustainability projects of the JV Asset Budget
    • Contribute to the Preparation of the annual work plan including the cost estimates for the execution of the identified projects and interface with JV partner NUIMS for the approval of the work plan and budget.
    • Develop project concept and contribute to the preparation of the projects’ Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and support development studies needed for projects the validation of dossiers. Interface with the sponsors of projects for proper scope description and schedule alignment.
    • Monitor projects performance progress vis-à-vis the schedule, report schedule slip, review modification or deviation proposals, analyse variation requests, provide scope clarification to contractors as necessary.
    • Participate in project concept development brainstorming session, prepare and issue report of such sessions for review and validation
    • Review the basic engineering designs, identifying and recommending areas that may require further study, improvement, development or fine-tuning to the hierarchy for consideration.
    • Review draft project Scope of Work (SOW), Bill of Materials (BOQ) and ensure that proper clauses, specifications, test and other COMPANY’S requirements are included in the SOW and BOQ
    • Review the contractor request for modification or deviation necessitated by constraints encountered on sit during construction work.
    • Review any claim of shortfalls in materials listed in BoQ or omitted items in BoQ, investigate the claim in conjunction with the Quantity Surveyor and justify the reason for the shortfalls as well as the actual quantities and recommend verified quantities to the hierarchy for approval.
    • Review the work schedule submitted by contractors vis-à-vis the contract strategy and planning approved for the project by management or CPSC.
    • Ensure proper follow up and monitoring of project work plan and schedule to avoid schedule slippages and timely delivery of project.
    • In close co-ordination with the CAPD Planner, ensure all activities included in the entity’s annual work package are properly captured and updated in Primavera, 5 weeks lookahead and 24 months lookahead are timely issued for internal review prior to the JV Asset planning meeting.
    • Interface with the various HCDT to collate and review the progress of key projects for proper documentary in the entity as well as enhance the reporting of the affiliate implementation of PIA.
    • Put system and arrangement in place for inspection of key projects and programs being implemented by the HCDT, reporting good practices and raising red flags where necessary.
    • Executes and maintains various UN developmental projects in the JV Asset for the benefits of the state and the communities in which the COMPANY operate.
    • Executes various Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) Human Capital Project (HCD) in line with the regulatory requirements in the NCDMB Act.
    • Liaison with NUIMS, which involves rigorous budget defence to secure funds allocation for annual work programme, periodic budget performance defence to secure cash calls for project execution, annual performance defence to avoid expenditures rejection, thereby preventing money loss.
    • Liaises with the HCDT/community representatives, government representatives, NGOs, etc and other related stakeholders to define projects/activities for implementation.
    • Principally to actualize COMPANY's group policy on Community Affairs.
    • Planning, developing, evaluating, executing and delivering/maintaining projects to host communities/operational areas within approved budget and specified time frame to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
    • Documentation on Community projects and Reporting.
    • Familiarize self with COMPANY's emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident, unsafe act or operation.
    • Ensure all personnel under his/her supervision are well trained and aware of their HSE responsibilities with continuous monitoring.

    Requirements

    • B.Eng / B.Sc – Civil / Structural Engineering or any other engineering field.
    • Affiliation with the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 15 years’ experience, of which 10 years must be in the Oil and Gas industry performing a similar job function
    • Good analytical skills
    • Good computer skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office Suites
    • Good interpersonal relationship.

    Operations Geologist

    About the Role
    Service Dimensions:

    • With support from the N+1, the incumbent is involved in coordination of COMPANY's Well Geology Operations.
    • Indirect Reports: Wellsite Geologists (2 - 4 members; Rig /Activity dependent).
    • Key Collaborators: Field Assets, Drilling & Wells and Service Contractors.
    • Asset Domains: Onshore, Offshore and Deep Offshore (AOBO; Pressure Context: Depleted, Normal, HP/HT).
    • Annual Well Count: 6 - 10 Wells (2 - 3 Rigs; Development, Exploration and Appraisal), some Rigless Interventions.
    • Annual Value of Supervised Contracts: 8 - 15 M$ (Formation Evaluation), excludes 1 - 2 M$ for Studies in Asset Budget.
    • Annual Value of indirectly Implicated Contracts: 200 - 250 M$ (Drilling & Wells).

    Activities

    • With support from the N+1, the incumbent follows-up and coordinates COMPANY's Geological opera rations relating to (but not limited to):
    • HSE: Championing and integrating common-s-sense and Company prescribed safety best practices in Well planning (e.g Pore Pressure Prognosis),), Geological data acquisition and follow-up of Well opera rations (Pore Pressure monitoring).
    • Planning: Liaising with stakeholders (Drillers, Assets, Explo, AOBO…) to validate Well Conceptual Phase (3W) and define technical requirements (Well Statement of Requirements - WSOR) and mitigations required to drill Wells safely (including strategy for efficient execution of Geological Operations). Works with Service Contractors and Wellsite Geologists to plan logistics deployment (and demobilization) of personnel and equipment to and from the Wellsite.
    • Operations Supervision: Coordinates Wellsite Geologists and Contractors to monitor and execute Well and Geological operations (LWD, Wireline Logging, Mud Logging, Coring, Formation Pressure Testing and Fluid Sampling, VSP…..).
    • Reporting: Assuring timely, concise, and accurate reporting of Well activity (including Well Location Reports, Daily Reports and Geological End of Well Reports).
    • Pore Pressure: Performance of Pore Pressure Studies (Pre, during and Post-Well) with support from N+1 and HQ specialists.
    • Operations Quality Assurance: Liaising with Service Contractors (Wireline, Mud Logging….) to review performance and improve service quality through regular Service Quality Meetings, Audit of equipment (Unit, Gas Chain….).
    • Cost Control: Tracking and management of costs related to Well monitoring and Formation evaluation activities.
    • Know-How: Shares Geological operations feedback and experience to educate and inform stakeholders (GSR, DCD, HQ…).
    • Mentoring: Coaching Wellsite Geologists (especially Juniors / Cadets) to grow technical autonomy and improve soft skills.

    Requirements

    • Formal Education (Diplomas): BSc or MSc in Geology (or equivalent).
    • Technical Background: geological operations planning and supervision, Geosteering operations, Formation evaluation, Mud Logging etc.
    • Certifications: Must hold a valid certification from IFP Training in Subsurface Geological Operations.
    • Behaviour: Team Player, Pro-active, Attentive to details, Good Communicator, Open-Minded.
    • Social Awareness: Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus), adaptable to multi-cultural environment.
