    Kitchen Assistant

    Job Overview

    Responsible for performing various routine tasks under the supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor and will ensure that the conduct of such tasks is in line with the standards and values of the company.

    Functional Responsibilities

    • Sanitize and prepare various ingredients and condiments
    • Properly store and maintain the freshness of vegetables for salad dishes and soups
    • Slice, cut, chop, grind and weigh ingredients necessary to prepare the required dishes
    • Measure and weigh ingredients, such as cheese, pork, beef, chicken, seafood, etc
    • Ensure that all ingredients are place in their designated containers and in the proper storage areas at the right temperature to minimize spoilage and waste of ingredients and supplies
    • Read and keep track of temperature readings of the food storage areas.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of any and all utensils and equipment used in the preparation and storage of food

    Education

    • Secondary School Leaving Certificate

    Experience:

    • Experience with kitchen work.

    Requirement:

    • Proven knowledge of local cuisine
    • Keen interest in cooking and ingredients involved
    • Creative skill in food preparation and presentation
    • A good team player
    • Ability to work under pressure or in stressful or demanding situations
    • Well-organized, neat, punctual and pays attention to details

    Cashier

    Job Description

    • Responsible for ensuring checking out customer purchases, assists with ordering of the goods/services offered by the restaurant.
    • Making sure there is accuracy in recording of sales transactions and security of the cash in the cash register machine and consistent compliance to cashiering standards to efficiently and effectively serve the customers.

    Functional Responsibilities

    • Take Customer orders and records in the POS system at the counter
    • Receive payments and presents change to customers
    • Ensuring that each and every requests of the customer is precisely and accurately entered
    • Ensuring that all the money received are correctly registered in the cash register machine, following strict compliance to the cashiering standards
    • Receive food or drinks bills from waiters or customers
    • Administer the register, including all credit and cash operations
    • Assist in other departments and perform other related duties as needed
    • Performs daily reconciliation to ensure that there is a balance of the register at the end of the working period
    • Balance cash drawers at the end of each shift and make sure that any discrepancies are resolved prior to close down
    • Count cash at the beginning of each shift and make sure that there is enough change available
    • Fill out blank deposit slips and deposit all earned cash at the end of the day
    • Sort, count and wrap cash and arrange for it to be deposited to the bank
    • Record totalled amounts, including expenses in the restaurant database
    • Manage the cash register, perform bookkeeping activities and generate cash and credit reports
    • Take and process orders for takeout and deliveries and follow up to make sure that they are prepared on time
    • Ensures that menus display the correct pricing and update changes as requested
    • Resolves customer complaints by providing them with the highest level of service

    Education

    • Minimum of OND in Accounting
    • Any related certification is an advantage but not mandatory
    • Fresh graduate, 1-year related work experience is an advantage
    • Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) system Debit-Credit transactions and gift cheques

    Requirement:

    • Use of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Knowledge of basic book keeping and excellent numeracy skills.
    • Basic computer knowledge and ability to use other necessary electronic equipment.
    • Keen attention to details.
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
    • Sums up customers totals and print out bills after ensuring that the amounts are accurate.
    • Ability to handle and accurately count cash.
    • Process cash and credit/debit card payments and tender change and receipts.
    • Must possess excellent reports preparation.
    • Count and reconcile receipts with monies received.
    • Will work in any capacity as per the request of the designated supervisor or management.

    Waitress

    Job Description

    • Responsible for provision of information about menu items, take customer’s orders and help them in their food selection.
    • Accommodates guests and ensure that the restaurant has the right ambiance.
    • Provides a good first impression about the restaurant by being positive, cheerful and approachable in order to promote the restaurant’s friendly environment and high standard services.

    Functional Responsibilities

    • Be the front liner of food and beverage and customer service
    • Attend to customers; greet and welcome them in a positive and friendly manner upon entrance and bid them goodbye in the same way
    • Answer guests/customers’ inquiries about the restaurant’s products and services
    • Collaborate with the kitchen staff and other co-waiters, constantly reminding them of the customers waiting to be served and ensuring that all customers’ needs are met satisfactorily
    • Adopt a positive approach in dealing with customer complaints and concerns
    • Answer customer questions regarding the menu and make recommendations when necessary
    • Set the table and serve the meals professionally
    • Manage the flow of customers to the eating area and provide proper wait lines during busy periods
    • Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies

    Requirements

    • SSCE qualification
    • Knowledge of how to engage customers and serve them professionally
    • Knowledgeable in proper setting of tables
    • Creative skill in food presentation
    • Adequate communication skills; ability to converse with customers effectively and make small talk to make them feel comfortable
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative in making recommendations to customers
    • Be open to flexible hours and must be willing to work even on holidays
