    Media & Editorial Adviser (Digital and Social)

    Job Purpose

    Embedded as part of Renaissance Relations and Sustainable Development’ team to develop and execute impactful social media strategies, manage Renaissance's online presence, drive innovative campaigns, support brand review, compliance, and contribute to Renaissance's overall reputation in Nigeria and beyond.

    Responsibilities

    • Act as a “Renaissance spokesperson” on social media, representing the Renaissance brand and tone of voice across social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram.
    • Support business and reputation initiatives by working collaboratively with the Communications/Media/NGO Relations team and with other RSD colleagues on social media messaging and timing; fact check (challenge) requests for all social media and online communications, as appropriate.
    • Monitor social media conversation on a constant basis and elevate/make recommendations for addressing any potential crises, trends, or issues. 
    • Rapidly and effectively analyse developing situations and advise/act on a recommended course of action, including in crisis situations.
    • Anticipate and respond to negative social media activity that may result from controversial issues.
    • Gather information and develop fact-based responses to select inquiries in social media outlets; maintain a matrix of standard responses. 
    • Provide real-time social media listening, aggregating feedback and trends in real-time that can help the company identify opportunities for engagement and improve stakeholder perception and brand reputation.
    • Provide counsel on and support social media influencer activity for Communications/Media/NGO Relations team.
    • Identify how communication from one business could impact or conflict with the objectives of stakeholders worldwide and act accordingly.
    • Form and sustain relationships with various people in the organisation, including RSD colleagues.
    • Ensure the company's social media policy is adhered to; report violations as appropriate.
    • Developing innovative campaigns for Renaissance internal and external communications (SP, local content, operations etc), working in collaboration with wider RSD and PUs.
    • Ensuring that social, brand and reputational opportunities and risks are identified and assessed at an early stage, mitigated or leveraged, and integrated into communications and campaign plans.
    • Communicating Renaissance's capabilities, achievements, products/services, and thought leadership to build preference with partners, customers, and other stakeholders at various external events/activities/platforms and through strategic campaigns.
    • Ensuring organisation, coordination and reporting of internal and external meetings and events associated with his/her Comms and campaign deliverables.
    • Developing and publishing RSD campaign and brand management activities /content at the to drive awareness and compliance.
    • Ensuring the delivery of Brand VI compliance through brand review, processing and approvals.

    Other specific duties: 

    • Monitoring and engagement of paid, earned, shared and owned content on social media. 
    • Member of Renaissance crisis Communications Support Team as social media manager.
    • Travel to Renaissance events and plan, execute, and analyse real-time social media activity.

    Requirements

    • A bachelor’s degree in Background in journalism / communications or related field
    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in social media, digital content and its role in business communications.

    The successful candidate should possess:

    • Direct experience using social media and performing community management in a corporate setting, preferably for a global company.
    • Excellent writing skills and sound knowledge of communications disciplines, planning and strategy.
    • Strong knowledge of all social media platforms and corporate applications.
    • Ability to stay ahead of social media trends and platform changes. 
    • Knowledge of paid social media implementation, content types, strategies, and planning.

    SP Competency & Assurance Lead

    Job Purpose

    This role will drive SP discipline journey to comply with the domestication of the HSSE & SP Control Framework, DCAF, ACAL PCAP and other discipline requirements (including ESHIA, ESHMP, EER & EES) aimed at ensuring implementation of adequate social risk mitigation measures that align with international industry standards. The role will ensure the delivery of quality SP plans, strategies and activities for Opportunities, Projects/Assets. Role will also serve as SP SME for HSSE & SP audits, other Assurance activities (VAR, PER, PAR, ITR, etc.) as well as drive internal assurance activities such as Peer Reviews, SP Reviews, and SP LoD1. Role will also ensure seamless collaboration with Environment to ensure integrated Impact assessment across Renaissance, champion continuous improvement as well as drive competence development in Social Performance for CR/SP professionals based in Assets and Projects. Role will lead Social Impact assessment and mitigation across Renaissance working with CR Advisers in Assets and Projects to ensure that ESHMPs and outcomes of EERs and EES are implemented to ensure permits for new projects and license retention for assets in line with country and Renaissance regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and update Asset & Project level SP procedures aligned with domesticated HSSE & SP Control Framework (CF) processes and procedures 
    • Responsible for managing the social aspects of integrated impact assessments, ensuring implementation of social components of the Environmental, Social & Health Impact Management Plans and delivery of associated programmes and projects in a manner consistent with domesticated HSSE & SP CF 
    • Provide assurance on SP following the Discipline standards while working with SP/ CRCs to support development, annual updates and implementation of SP plans for projects and operations in line with the HSSE & SP CF.
    • Support annual LoD1 for all SP-related operations as well as SP Joint Assessment Reviews, LoD 1 for SP plans and EMP integration testing.
    • Champion implementation of SP aspects of the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP), annual SP risk assessment, benchmarking within industry and trend analysis and advice on changes.
    • Responsible for influencing NOVs to adopt similar practices aimed at embedding the HSSE & SP CF and managing social risks.

    Job Dimensions:

    • This role is dynamic and unique, collocated with the Environment team and requiring the application of global SP/Sustainability best practices in a challenging and complex local context. Adaptability and flexibility are key.
    • Interacts with a network of internal and external stakeholders within and outside the Oil & Gas industry.
    • Budget: Indirect - $1 to $2 million funded by projects for social impact mitigation annually to enable protection of value of circa S1 billion capex in major projects. Business scope - opportunities, projects and operations across Renaissance. 
    • Supervision of external consultants working on social aspects of EIAs and coordination of internal participation in EES and EERs. 
    • Coverage: 4 Niger Delta states, 300+communities. Champion implementation of and compliance with of the HSSE & SP control framework. Assess and manage Social Impacts arising from Renaissance operations in Nigeria.

    Requirements

    • A bachelor’s degree in related field
    • A minimum of 10 years’ industry experience in Social Performance and Sustainability management.
    • The ideal candidate would be a strategic, creative and collaborative professional experienced in managing Consultants, NGOs and international service providers.
    • SME in SP and good understanding of key strategic global sustainability standards.
    • Strong influencing/motivating skills and ability to influence without hierarchical control and drive delivery through others.
    • Strict adherence and compliance with E&C and ABC rules and regulations, with personal integrity and good judgement.

    Policy & Advocacy Adviser

    Job Purpose

    The Relations & Sustainable Development (R&SD) function delivers value by enabling our strategy and sectoral approach and improving policy and advocacy outcomes. The RSD Policy & Advocacy team is the locus for a coordinated approach to policy & advocacy management for Renaissance. The team manages relationships with the Federal Government and its organs, shaping opinions externally, while providing support to internal strategy formulation and direction, toward attaining business objectives. As a strategic function, RSD Policy & Advocacy, works to position the company as partner of first choice with government, leveraging relationships through advocacy and appropriate business intelligence, to constructively influence government policies and direction that will enable the best possible environment for the business. To develop and implement strategies to advance the Renaissance’s positions with the government while collaborating with other operators..

    Responsibilities

    • Build, enhance, and sustain constructive relationships with NNPC Ltd., the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (MoPR), its agencies, and other key stakeholders to support business objectives and outcomes.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between Renaissance and NNPC Ltd., MoPR, and relevant agencies, maintaining effective engagement channels and appropriate access platforms.
    • Gather, assess, and proactively share intelligence on government and agency priorities, positions, and emerging issues to inform company strategy, advocacy, negotiations, and responses.
    • Develop and maintain stakeholder maps and engagement plans, and coordinate engagement strategies for Renaissance business leaders with key external stakeholders.
    • Conduct advocacy activities, particularly at the operational and middle-management levels, and provide feedback on stakeholder perspectives regarding issues of interest to the company.
    • Maintain information on key government officials, influencers, and stakeholders, ensuring engagement records and databases remain current and accessible.
    • Attend, monitor, and support key meetings between the business and external stakeholders, providing insights, interpretation of discussions, and follow-up on agreed actions.
    • Maintain formal and informal dialogue with stakeholders and collaborate with the Policy and Advocacy team to produce briefings on the external environment, government policies, and regulatory developments.
    • Coordinate and support Renaissance participation in industry events, conferences, sponsorships, and stakeholder engagements, particularly in Abuja.
    • Serve as the Policy and Advocacy team’s planning, budget, and IT focal point, ensuring effective management and continuous improvement of communication and information management systems.
    • Coordinate inbound and outbound corporate correspondence in line with business communication service standards.
    • Manage the Corporate Correspondence function and Business Communication teams across Abuja and Lagos.
    • Oversee corporate correspondence applications (PowerApps Information Management System, SharePoint, ASSAI, and related platforms) in partnership with IT to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
    • Supervise the documentation, retention, accessibility, and governance of business correspondence records, ensuring compliance and brand consistency.

    Requirements

    • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ post-graduation experience, preferably within the Energy, Oil and Gas industry in Nigeria
    • The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience and proficiency in the following areas:
    • Information Management, Document Control, or Government Relations, with practical experience in developing and implementing digital information management systems.
    • Strong understanding of corporate correspondence, document management, records retention, and information governance processes.

    • A minimum of 14 years’ experience with a deep understanding of the Nigerian political and media landscape, with awareness of regional dynamics.
