    Job Summary

    • The News Editor is a versatile professional responsible for sourcing, writing, editing, and publishing high-quality news content. Acting as the sole reporter, writer, and editor, this role requires managing the entire news production cycle, from idea generation to final publication, while ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timeliness.

    Key Responsibilities

    News Sourcing & Research

    • We are seeking self-motivated and results-driven Sales Executives for our radio station.

    Responsibilities:

    • Sell advertising space on the radio.
    • Generate income through direct sales and sponsorship by promoting the benefits of our radio station to individual and corporate clients.
    • Pitch programs and ideas to clients and prepare proposals using our rate card.
    • Achieve and exceed monthly revenue targets.

    Radio Producer

    Scheduling & Planning:

    • Design and implement production schedules, ensuring all programme segments are delivered on time and adhere to station standards. 

    Sound Design & Editing:

    • Collaborate with programme team to produce high-quality audio. Edit recordings, integrate sound effects, and select music or sound bites to enhance content. 
    • On-Air Supervision:
    • Manage live broadcasts to ensure smooth execution and providing feedback to on-air talent and guests. 

    Research & Insights:

    • Monitor current events, audience preferences, and industry trends to maintain the relevance and appeal of content. 
    • Compliance: Ensure all content complies with broadcasting laws and regulations, as well as internal policies on language, topics, and fairness. Maintain ethical standards, particularly in news reporting.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with the Programmes Manager and relevant teams to align content with station goals and promotional activities.
    • Post-Production: Review and edit recorded shows or news segments for rebroadcast, podcasts, or syndication.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Radio Producer or similar role, with experience in news production and development for at least 3 years.
    • Strong understanding of radio production techniques and news broadcasting.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear, accurate, and engaging news delivery.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
    • Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity) is a plus.
