• Minimum of OND / diploma Business Admin. or any related Marketing Courses
• 1-2 years experience in marketing or sales

Job Summary

The general manager will be responsible and accountable for maximizing revenue and optimizing profits. He/She will supervise operational performance in the Cinemas/distribution by demonstrating strong business acumen, entrepreneurial initiative, and driving a performance-based culture.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide effective operational management by planning, supervising, and managing operational tasks in assigned locations working with direct reports.
• Responsible for the operational efficiency of the Cinema/distribution and focusing on 
• continuous improvement in line with the company’s vision and mission.
• Accountable for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the Cinema’s/distribution annual operating budget as well as the Marketing and Sales strategy.
• Work closely with the Executive Director to formulate business strategy & processes and design policies that align with the Company’s overall business and operational strategy.
• Review SOP’s, procedures and service standards to ensure it meets current trends within the Industry.
• Oversee and manage operational costs & expenses through effective management of resources and support the business to optimize costs & benefits
• Implement, monitor, maintain and continually improve the quality of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards & total quality management.
• Identify new opportunities for business growth & operational efficiency.
• Pro-actively manage operational costs on a day-to-day basis through effective management of team and resource utilization.
• On a weekly basis, ensure film time schedules are in line with peak times and constantly  review annual calendar to capitalize extra revenue for schools, universities and public  holidays
• Liaise with the Business Development team on all cinema activities in relationship with local media groups such radio stations, TV, Nollywood, film distributors, cinema competitors to allow speedy growth for the company.
• Maintain the safety of customers and employees by complying with company standards, 
• Health, Safety and Environment legislation and meeting all other statutory requirements
• Champion, implement and sustain company initiatives, operations standards, company 
• policies and procedures, ensuring that these are communicated effectively to all employees  within the cinema
• Consistently seek opportunities for preventing loss, and ensure a secure environment for  customers and employees at all times.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Senior Head of Operations or General Manager in the 
• Cinema business or a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree / HND in Business Administration/Management or other related fields.
• Strong experience in retail sales and customer service is required.
• 6 - 10 years experience in the retail or entertainment industry, with 4 years in the Cinema business
