    Field Support Officer

    About the role

    The Field Officer will support Christian Aid’s response to the humanitarian crisis in Nigeria with special focuses on agricultural and livestock interventions. The role holder will assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of Christian Aid’ Food security and livelihoods programme providing effective and timely support (including capacity building) to communities enabling them to implement the rapid, effective and principled Food security and livelihood response to emergencies, and ensuring that this is in line with Christian Aid’s country strategy and Humanitarian Standards.

    About you

    You are required to have a B.Sc in Agronomy, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics or Crop Science. Work experience from the Borno context preferred.  You are required to have experience working in livelihoods and food security humanitarian/recovery context with a proven experience in implementing agriculture support programs. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts as well as knowledge of the context in Northeast Nigeria is required. Fluency in one or more of the local languages (Hausa and Kanuri) is essential.

    Agricultural Extension Support Officer

    About the role

    The post holders will support the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) project and perform his/her role to carry out all agricultural extension activities under the supervision of Food Security & Livelihood Coordinator.

    About you

    The post holder should have a first degree in Agricultural Science/Agronomy/Agric Extension/Animal Science. she/he should have a minimum 2-year experience in leading Agricultural based interventions. She/he should have coordination experience with different partners and stakeholders. The post holder is required to have experience in staff supervision, capacity building and developing training modules. Experience in the local languages Hausa and Kanuri is an added advantage.

    Communications Officer

    About the role

    The role holder will be responsible for raising Christian Aid’s profile through effective content management in Christian Aid's humanitarian response programme.  The role holder will provide technical support to staff and partners involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of interventions in all areas of Christian Aid's work in the North East. The role holder will identify and share the best stories, case studies that show how Christian Aid Nigeria and partners are changing lives those affected by insurgency through its programmes. The role holder will write, edit and commission a varied mix of content including case studies, interviews, blogs, photos and films in line with CA’s communication guideline and strategy for dissemination to show the value and impact of the Programmes.

    About you

    You are required to have a first degree in Mass Communication or related field. A Masters degree will be an added advantage. You are required to have a minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, implementing and evaluating communications interventions within development approaches. You are required to have experience of developing and delivering effective project communications strategies and plans. Knowledge of fundraising communications and an understanding of major donor audiences and the issues they relate to is required. Good knowledge of the international development sector, its issues and challenges is essential
