About the role
The Field Officer will support Christian Aid’s response to the humanitarian crisis in Nigeria with special focuses on agricultural and livestock interventions. The role holder will assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of Christian Aid’ Food security and livelihoods programme providing effective and timely support (including capacity building) to communities enabling them to implement the rapid, effective and principled Food security and livelihood response to emergencies, and ensuring that this is in line with Christian Aid’s country strategy and Humanitarian Standards.
About you
You are required to have a B.Sc in Agronomy, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics or Crop Science. Work experience from the Borno context preferred. You are required to have experience working in livelihoods and food security humanitarian/recovery context with a proven experience in implementing agriculture support programs. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts as well as knowledge of the context in Northeast Nigeria is required. Fluency in one or more of the local languages (Hausa and Kanuri) is essential.
