Background
- Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is a sub-recipient to FHI 360 on the “National Aligned HIV/AIDS Initiative (NAHI) project. Under this arrangement, AHNi has a mandate to support the provision of both facility-based and community-based comprehensive HIV services to the key population (KP) community in Taraba state.
- This support includes the provision of integrated community-based one stop shop clinics (OSS) and key population friendly health services (KPFHS) through faith-based, private, and public health facilities.
- The OSS clinic model is a type of community-based differentiated ART service delivery model for KP.
- The KPFHF is aimed at sustainability and ownership of KP care through provision of ART services to KP in a conventional healthcare setting.

Objectives
The specific objectives of the KP intervention include:
- To create a supportive environment for key populations and foster community empowerment by providing a venue for relaxation, recreation, peer support, income generation and other activities to address underlying social factors such as SGBV and social marginalization.
- To provide health education and promote safer behaviors (including safer sex and safe injection) to reduce the risk of acquiring or transmitting HIV and STIs.
- To provide an integrated package of HIV/STI/RH services tailored to the needs of the KP clients through ‘friendly’ service providers who are sensitized and trained to serve KP.
- To serve as a distribution point for condoms, lubricants and needles/syringes and other key commodities to reduce HIV transmission.
- To build the capacity of KP CBOs to implement comprehensive HIV prevention and health promotion interventions.
Basic Function
- The main responsibility will be to provide education about HIV-related issues and adherence counseling services at One-Stop-Shop (OSS) for Key Populations (KPs) and their partners.
Specific Deliverables are:
- Provide psychosocial and continuous support as well as treatment/PrEP preparation to KPs and their partners in the OSS.
- Identify and address challenges/barriers to adherence to care and treatment to ART for KPs and PrEP for their partners.
- Organize and facilitate support group sessions for infected and affected KPs.
- Address aspects of behavior change in relation to HIV and ART.
- Conduct Sexual network tracking/Partner notification services.
- Facilitate the delivery of PWP information to clients enrolled in OSS.
- Participate in home visits as appropriate to execute plan of care for clients.
- Ensure client records are well maintained and compile periodic reports as necessary.
- Ensure proper referral of patients where necessary including following up and reporting on the outcomes as necessary.
- Coordinates patient tracking activities supported by the Case Managers including documentation and reporting of defaulter tracing activities.
Reporting:
- Reports to the facility in charge and GF Technical leads.
- Works in collaboration and guidance of the Clinical Technical team.
- Compile and submits monthly reports on Psychosocial Support and Patient tracking activities.

Experience & Skills:
- 3 - 4 years’ experience, 1 year of which should be as an Adherence Counselor in HIV service delivery.

Basic Function
- The main responsibility will be to provide Laboratory services to members of the Key populations and their partners at One-Stop-Shop (OSS).
Specific Deliverables are:
Area 1: Provide laboratory and point-of-care diagnostic services in support of HTS and ART for Key Populations.
- Performing laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support provision of the continuum of HIV treatment services.
- Preparing Dried Tube Specimen (DTS) panels for IQC and EQA (Proficiency testing) to support HTS on the project.
- Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses.
- Preparing specimens and samples
- Maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment
- Maintaining personal expertise in clinical laboratory practice and innovative technology and equipment
- Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked with relevant consumables.
- Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks within and around the laboratory.
Area 2: Oversight and Supervision of Laboratory Services:
- Working with the project team to develop and implement quality assurance systems to improve the quality of diagnostics and facilitate treatment and monitoring of HIV.
- Supporting the development of project work plans and budgets to incorporate the procurement of equipment and supplies for laboratory services.
- Supporting the use of emerging and appropriate technology for cost-effective service delivery
- Supporting the design and implementation of innovative strategies for delivering needs-based training and mentoring for clinic staff in relevant areas
- Supporting implementation and monitoring of biosafety and biosecurity in clinical service delivery, including the development of SOPs, guidelines and job aids
Area 3: Data Management and Reporting:
- Produce computerized records to interpret and archive laboratory results to be presented to clinic staff and project team for informed decision making.
- Provide support to the Strategic Information (SI) unit to support research (qualitative and quantitative) surveys on service delivery outcomes for HIV prevention, care and treatment.
- Ensure timely submission of quality reports to the PR/SR on monthly and quarterly basis or as required.
Area 4: Other assignments:
- Proactively seek out and report relevant opportunities, success stories, linkages or challenges that may promote laboratory services for the project.
- Participate in Laboratory Technical Working Groups and represent the project at relevant fora.

Specific Deliverables are:
Area 1: Delivery of pharmaceutical services in support of quality Antiretroviral Therapy (ART):
- Dispense Antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) and other medication in line with approved regimens and standards.
- Dispensing ARVs in appropriate packaging with clear instructions
- Providing medication-related counseling, including reinforcing adherence and advising on potential side effects and drug interactions
- Providing drug information to health service providers and clients on request
- Identifying and supporting follow-up of clients who do not return for refills of their ARVs.
- Working with providers and clients to identify, manage, and report adverse drug reactions and drug interactions.
- Contributing to decision making on treatment and care for individual clients
- Ensure Good Pharmaceutical Practice (GPP) and standards
- Calculate drug storage needs for ART start-up and expansion.
- Monitor ARV and other drug (STIs, OIs, etc.) stock levels at the OSS and communicate with the project team for re-stocking.
- Contribute to forecasting /quantification of health commodities and monitoring of drug distributions.
- Oversee drug logistics i.e., stock-taking, proper drug storage, drug stock out and monitor the effectiveness of the pull system.
Area 2: Internal and External Quality Control Systems:
- Assess the functionality of existing pharmaceutical management systems and develop implementation plans that prioritize and address gaps.
- Oversee quality assurance systems at the OSS by close monitoring of prescription patterns, ensuring proper documentation, side effects monitoring (pharmacovigilance) and reducing dispensing errors.
- Identify needs for information resources - for example, ART guidelines and drug information for medication counselling.
Area 3: Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Implement monitoring and reporting of medication errors, suspected adverse reactions to medicines, and other medication-related events.
- Monitoring ART prescriptions for appropriateness and discrepancies
- Monitoring adherence to ARVs; working with clients and other health service providers to address difficulties.
- Address emerging problems as client numbers increase.
- Contribute to the development of data collection tools for KPs (HTS, ART and Prevention for Positives)
- Monitor and report weekly enrolment.
- Provide support to the Strategic Information (SI) unit to conduct research (qualitative and quantitative) surveys on service delivery outcomes for HIV prevention, care and treatment.

Qualifications
Minimum Recruitment Standard:
- B.Pharm or Pharm. D with at least 2 years minimum Pharmaceutical experience and working with Key Populations
- A registered member of the pharmaceutical council of Nigeria will be a huge advantage with valid council registration
- Experience working with Civil Society Organizations
- Excellent ability to communicate and maintain diplomatic and productive relations with the team; resourcefulness, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast changing and challenging environment
- Familiarity with Nigeria Public Sector Health Systems, NGOs and CBOs will be highly desirable.

- Provide psychological support and counseling services to beneficiaries and their families.
- Provide family support when needed.
- Facilitate group therapy and support group sessions in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct home visits to provide further psycho-social support when needed.
- Organize community, rehabilitation and awareness activities for beneficiaries and their families in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
- Attend and contribute to the weekly clinical supervision meeting.
- Ensure the complete and updated filing of beneficiary information, including follow-up visits and referrals.
- Assist in performing other tasks as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Recruitment Standards:
- B.A / B.Sc in Psychology (MA degree is preferred).
- At least 2 years’ experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous training on case management and/or bio-psychosocial approach is an asset.
- Experience in Psychological First Aid, and other psychosocial support (MHPSS) activities
- Experience in working with people with mental health issues as an added advantage.

Education and/or Experience
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or competency required:
- First Degree in Social Science, Public Health, or another relevant discipline.
- At least 1 years M&E experience in the health sector, experience working on HIV treatment program or sexual and reproductive is an advantage.
