    Specialist, Middleware

    Job Description

    • The Mediation and Provisioning Specialist is responsible for the seamless activation and configuration of telecommunications services and for managing the flow and integrity of all network usage data (e.g., Call Detail Records - CDRs) from the network to the Business Support Systems (BSS) like billing and analytics platforms.
    • This role ensures data accuracy, prevents revenue leakage, and optimizes service delivery processes

    Responsibilities

    • Service Provisioning & Activation: Manage the setup, activation, and configuration of telecom services (e.g., voice, data, internet, VoIP, MPLS, SIP trunks) for new and existing customers.
    • Order Management: Process and track service orders from submission to activation, ensuring timely delivery and installation in coordination with internal teams and external vendors/carriers.
    • Mediation System Management: Monitor and maintain mediation platforms, ensuring raw usage data from various network elements (5G/4G, core network, IoT devices) is collected, filtered, transformed, and delivered accurately to downstream systems.
    • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Identify, diagnose, and resolve provisioning and mediation issues, data discrepancies, or service disruptions promptly to ensure uninterrupted service for customers.
    • System Configuration: Configure network elements, devices, and mediation software settings to enable new services and maintain proper functionality.
    • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all provisioning activities, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Collaboration: Liaise with cross-functional teams, including Network Engineering, IT, Billing, Customer Support, and external vendors/carriers, to streamline processes and resolve escalations.
    • Quality Assurance & Testing: Perform routine tests to ensure optimum system functioning, data integrity, and compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). 

    Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • Experience: Proven experience in a telecommunications, network operations, or IT support role, specifically within provisioning or mediation.

    Technical Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of telecommunications networks, protocols, and services (e.g., VoIP, fiber optics, data services).
    • Familiarity with mediation platforms (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson mediation systems) and BSS/OSS systems.
    • Proficiency in database management (SQL, Oracle) and scripting languages (Shell, Python) is highly beneficial.
    • Knowledge of network equipment configuration (routers, switches, modems).

    Soft Skills:

    Specialist, Compliance

    Job Summary

    • Assist in conducting process control activities in line with stated policies and processes

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Advise Line Management on possible financial impact across all divisions of regulatory/statutory developments and trends while highlighting potential revenue generation/cost saving opportunities. 
    • Liaise with relevant stakeholders across all T2mobile business divisions to drive compliance with identified regulatory and statutory requirements and obligations. 
    • Assess the adequacy of existing controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements. 
    • Identify control gaps and recommend compensating controls while also supporting the process owners in the development and implementation.  
    • Implement compliance monitoring activities in line with the company-wide risk-based compliance program and follow-up on agreed mitigation actions and plans to ensure all non-compliance issues are closed.

    • Liaise with relevant stakeholders and key process owners to obtain evidence of compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. 
    • Produce high quality monitoring reports and analysis with insights on compliance monitoring activities, outcomes and trends. 
    • Assist with preparing standard and ad-hoc information and data reports to the executive management and other stakeholders as required. 
    • Assist in coordinating day-to-day performance and quality monitoring exercises, implementing effective, proactive, quality processes at the operating level that will positively impact on quality and enhance customer satisfaction. 
    • Stay abreast of all relevant compliance and regulatory requirements within the Telecommunications Industry

    Requirements

    • Four years relevant professional experience 
    • Experience working in a team and good interpersonal skills  
    • Knowledge and experience of best practice compliance and governance frameworks, methodologies and emerging practice, compliance monitoring and risk assessments in the context of the Nigerian and global telecommunications industry.

    Senior Engineer, VAS Operations

    Job Summary

    • Perform value-added Service end-to-end troubleshooting, conduct VAS health checks, and carry out end-to-end KPI analysis and Performance optimization
    • Ensure the implementation, maintenance and operations of VAS nodes and effectively monitor all data-related links

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Liaise with vendors to commission, integrate and perform system acceptance testing (SAT) for VAS elements on EMTS’s network.
    • Troubleshoot circuit switching VAS network nodes such as Voicemail, USSD, IVR, CRBT, SMSC, IPCC, SCG, etc, as required to prevent, isolate, and resolve network faults.
    • Ensure adherence to a proactive maintenance cycle on all VAS circuit switching systems
    • Review recommendations of the internal audit function relating to both CS and PS VAS system policies, standards, guidelines and operations and take action as required.
    • VAS Systems and Services’ diagnosis and resolution of issues to ensure MTTR and other service availability KPIs are met
    • Development, configuration, and integration of all VAS solutions/systems in line with the Digital strategy execution plan

    Education and Experience

    • First Degree in Electrical / Electronic or Computer Engineering.
    • 5 years of experience in the telecommunication sector.
    • Good knowledge and experience with Linux and IP Networking, especially Transport, Internet and Application Layer (IPv4, IPsec, TCP, UDP, QUIC, HTTP/s, DNS, RTSP, SSH) protocols
    • Preferably with Knowledge on VAS systems like SMSC, SMPP-GW, VoiceMail, VoiceSMS, RBT, SDP(Service Delivery Platform), RSC(Roaming Service Center), USSD, Collect Call, WAP/WEB Portal, Mobile TV, MMSC, WAP-GW, ADC & OTA, MTA(Mail Transfer Agent)
    • Good knowledge in operating systems like Windows, Red hat or SUSE Linux, SUN Solaris and etc.
    • Good knowledge in databases like MySQL, SQL, Oracle and etc
    • Good knowledge of shell scripting and software engineering.
    • Working knowledge of security encryption solutions – SSL, firewalls, VPN, IPsec
    • Strong experience in programming/scripting language(s) – Python, Perl , Shell  or equivalent
    • 3rd Party RESTful API integration, PHP, MySQL, SQL server, web service working knowledge preferred
