About the role 

• The Head, Commercial Finance & Business Performance is the strategic finance partner to the CEO, CFO and Commercial Leadership Team. The role is responsible for driving profitable growth by providing financial leadership across pricing, commercial strategy, business performance, investment evaluation and commercial decision support.  Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and Supply Chain, the role converts financial and operational data into actionable commercial insight that improves decision-making and long-term value creation.   The role also leads the Commercial Finance & Business Performance department and works in close partnership with the Head of Supply Finance to ensure operational performance translates into sustainable commercial success. 

Key Responsibilities 

Commercial Strategy 

• Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute profitable growth strategies. 
• Evaluate new products, market opportunities, licensing opportunities and strategic investments.
• Lead financial modelling and business case development for major commercial initiatives.  

Business Performance 

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and commercial performance reporting. 
• Develop executive dashboards and performance metrics. 
• Analyze business performance and recommend actions to improve revenue, profitability and return on investment.      

Pricing & Profitability 

• Lead pricing strategy and governance. 
• Drive customer, product, channel and portfolio profitability analysis. 
• Evaluate promotional investments and commercial trade spend.  

Business Partnering 

• Serve as Finance Business Partner to Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Supply Chain. 
• Challenge assumptions and provide commercially focused financial advice that supports better business decisions.  
• Working Capital & Commercial Governance 
• Improve commercial cash conversion, receivables performance and customer credit management. 
• Strengthen commercial finance processes, policies and controls.  

Leadership 

• Build and develop a high-performing Commercial Finance team. 
• Coach team members and promote a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.  

Other 

• Any other duty assigned by the CFO and/or CEO 

Qualification & Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline. 
• Accounting professional certification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is required. 
• An MBA or Postgraduate degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant working experience with at least 5 years in a commercial finance, FP&A or Business Finance leadership role, preferably in Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, FMCG or Manufacturing Company.  
• Strong Financial modeling, ERP (SAP preferable) and business partnering capability.

• The Commercial Finance Manager supports profitable growth by delivering high quality financial analysis, forecasting, commercial insight and decision support across the business. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain, the role provides timely financial information that enables better pricing decisions, improved profitability and stronger commercial performance. The role will also support the Head of Commercial Finance & Business Performance  in developing a best-in-class Commercial Finance function. 

Key Responsibilities 

Commercial Performance 

• Prepare weekly and monthly commercial performance reports. 
• Analyse revenue, margins, customer profitability and product performance. 
• Monitor business performance against budgets and forecasts.  

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.
• Develop financial models and business cases. 
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis.  

Pricing & Commercial Support 

• Support pricing decisions through margin and profitability analysis. 
• Evaluate promotional effectiveness and commercial trade investments. 
• Assist with tender pricing and customer profitability reviews.  

Business Partnering 

• Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing and Supply Chain. 
• Provide financial insight to improve commercial decision-making.      

Working Capital 

• Support customer credit management, receivables reporting and inventory analysis. 
• Monitor working capital performance and identify improvement opportunities.  

Continuous Improvement 

• Improve reporting processes and financial dashboards. 
• Support finance transformation initiatives and ERP enhancements. 
• Any other duty assigned by the Head, Commercial Finance 

Qualification & Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline. 
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification preferred. 
• Minimum of 5 - 8 years’ experience in commercial finance, FP&A or Business Finance.
• Experience within Pharmaceutical, FMCG, Healthcare or Manufacturing environment preferred 
• Strong Excel, ERP (SAP) and financial modelling skills experience
