    IT Support Officer

    Responsibilities 

    • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
    • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
    • Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
    • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults and replace parts as required
    • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
    • Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
    • Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
    • Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
    • Implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
    • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
    • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security
    • Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
    • Arranging scheduled upgrades
    • Investigating faults in the network and updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
    • Reporting network status to key stakeholders
    • Excellent time management.

    Requirements

    • Good knowledge of Software / Hardware Installations, Operating Systems, LAN, WAN etc.
    • Excellent knowledge of routers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
    • Skilled in NVR and DVR – CCTV operations
    • A previous experience in a hospitality environment is preferred
    • A current/previous experience of MS Dynamic NAV, Micros and Opera is an advantage
    • Working knowledge of MS Server, SQL, ADDCis an added advantage
    • Must possess at least B.Sc in Computer Science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
    • Applicants must have 2-4 years experience in the above-mentioned field.

    Security Operatives

    Responsibilities
    Surveillance and Monitoring:

    • Monitor CCTV cameras to detect suspicious activities or unauthorized access.
    • Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises, including hallways, parking areas, and common areas.
    • Monitor entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access.

    Incident Management:

    • Respond promptly to security breaches, alarms, or incidents like theft, trespassing, or disorderly behavior.
    • Report and document incidents and suspicious activities accurately in the security log.
    • Coordinate with local law enforcement in case of emergencies or criminal activities.

    Access Control:

    • Maintain and monitor entry points and restrict unauthorized entry.
    • Issue, check, and manage guest and staff identification badges or keys/cards.
    • Ensure that all security procedures and policies are strictly followed by guests and staff.

    Customer Service and Safety:

    • Assist guests with information regarding security and emergency protocols.
    • Escort guests and staff to designated locations when necessary, especially in cases of emergencies.
    • Provide support in managing crowd control during hotel events or emergencies.

    Emergency Response:

    • Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire, medical situations, or evacuation scenarios.
    • Follow established emergency protocols and coordinate with other staff members during crises.
    • Assist in implementing and conducting emergency drills, fire drills, or evacuation procedures.

    Asset Protection:

    • Protect the hotel’s physical assets and valuables from theft, damage, or loss.
    • Conduct routine checks on key areas like storage rooms, VIP suites, and other restricted areas.
    • Ensure that equipment, such as alarms, surveillance systems, and locks, are maintained and functioning correctly.

    Report Writing:

    • Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, irregularities, or unusual occurrences.
    • Document any lost and found items, and follow hotel policies for handling them.
    • Maintain communication logs, shift reports, and incident reports accurately.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Minimum of SSCE, GCE
    • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
    • Strong observation and attention to detail.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
    • Basic understanding of CCTV systems, access control, and alarm systems.
