    Heavy-duty Logistics Supervisor

    Position Summary

    • The Heavy-Duty Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and supervision of all logistics activities related to oversized, overweight, and high-value project cargo.
    • This role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of heavy machinery, modular components, and critical materials from point of origin to project sites, often in remote or challenging environments.
    • The supervisor leads a team of logistics coordinators, field operatives, and drivers, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, transporters, and regulatory authorities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Logistics Planning & Execution:

    • Develop and implement detailed logistics plans (Method Statements) for the transportation of heavy and abnormal loads.
    • Conduct route surveys, including analysis of road conditions, bridge capacities, overhead obstructions, and site accessibility.
    • Select and manage specialized transport subcontractors (e.g., multi-axle trailer operators, crane companies, shipping lines).
    • Prepare and manage all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations (for cross-border moves), dangerous goods notes, and permits.

    Permitting & Regulatory Compliance:

    • Secure all necessary permits from road, police, and railway authorities for abnormal load movements.
    • Ensure strict compliance with all local, national, and international regulations (e.g., road traffic acts, IMDG Code, IMO regulations).
    • Stay updated on changes in transport laws and permit requirements in relevant operating regions.

    On-Site Supervision & Field Leadership:

    • Directly supervise loading, securing, transportation, unloading, and positioning of heavy equipment on project sites.
    • Enforce rigorous adherence to safe work practices, cargo securing standards (e.g., DIN/EN 12195), and company HSE policies.
    • Conduct pre- and post-trip briefings with transport crews and escorts.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve logistical issues in real-time during operations.

    Team & Contractor Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of logistics personnel and field operatives.
    • Manage the performance of third-party logistics service providers, ensuring they meet contractual SLAs and safety standards.
    • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for direct reports.

    Client & Stakeholder Communication:

    • Serve as the main logistics point of contact for project managers and clients.
    • Provide regular updates on shipment status, potential delays, and mitigation plans.
    • Liaise with engineering teams on load-out sequences and lifting plans.

    Cost Control & Reporting:

    • Monitor logistics expenditures against the project budget.
    • Approve transporter invoices and manage claims for damages or delays.
    • Maintain accurate records and generate reports on logistics performance, incidents, and KPIs.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential:

    • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent extensive experience will be considered.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in heavy-haul, project, or break-bulk logistics, with at least 2-3 years in a direct supervisory role.

    Technical Knowledge:

    • In-depth understanding of heavy transport equipment (SPMTs, low-loaders, modular trailers) and rigging/lifting principles.
    • Proficient in route planning software and MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel).
    • Strong knowledge of national and regional permit processes for abnormal loads.
    • Certifications: Valid driver’s license. Certifications in Dangerous Goods Handling (ADR/IMDG), Crane & Rigging, and/or professional logistics (e.g., CIPs) are highly advantageous.

    Personal Skills:

    • Exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills under pressure.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Uncompromising commitment to safety.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and travel extensively to project sites.

    Highly Desirable:

    • Experience in the mining, energy, or major construction industries.
    • Hands-on experience with logistics for remote site operations.
    • Knowledge of international shipping (Incoterms 2020, customs clearance).
    • Fluency in more than one language relevant to JMG’s operating regions.

    Human Resources Business Partner

    Position Summary

    • The HR Business Partner serves as a strategic partner to business leaders and line managers within designated business units. Moving beyond transactional HR, the HRBP aligns business objectives with employees and management, serving as a consultant on human resource-related issues. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicating needs proactively to the HR department and business management to develop integrated solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Partnership & Business Alignment:

    • Act as a single point of contact and trusted advisor to business leaders and managers on all people-related matters.
    • Understand the business unit's strategy, goals, and challenges to provide tailored HR guidance and support.
    • Translate business strategy into actionable HR priorities and workforce plans.
    • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to provide insights for decision-making (e.g., turnover, headcount, engagement scores).

    Talent Management & Organizational Development:

    • Partner with leaders on succession planning, talent review, and career pathing for critical roles.
    • Support the performance management cycle: guide goal setting, provide coaching on feedback and difficult conversations, and analyze trends.
    • Drive initiatives to improve employee engagement, morale, and retention.
    • Identify training needs in partnership with the L&D team and facilitate relevant programs.

    Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution:

    • Manage complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations where necessary.
    • Provide expert guidance on disciplinary actions, grievance procedures, and compliance with labor laws and company policies.
    • Foster a positive work environment and promote JMG's core values.

    Workforce Planning & Change Management:

    • Support organizational design, restructuring, and change management initiatives.
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition to forecast hiring needs, define role requirements, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
    • Manage redundancy, redeployment, and restructuring processes with sensitivity and compliance.

    Compensation & Benefits Support:

    • Advise managers on compensation philosophy, job leveling, and promotion recommendations.
    • Support the annual compensation review process within the business unit.
    • Educate managers and employees on benefits programs.

    HR Policy & Compliance:

    • Implement and interpret HR policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations relevant to JMG's operations (e.g., safety regulations in industrial settings).
    • Stay updated on HR best practices and legal developments.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Essential:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a dedicated HR Business Partner or similar strategic advisory role.
    • Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or a related project-based/industrial environment. Understanding of site-based workforces (blue-collar & white-collar) is crucial.
    • Legal Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.

    Skills:

    • Exceptional consulting, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
    • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion, empathy, and integrity.

    Highly Desirable / Preferred:

    • Certification: Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, CIPD, HRBP).

    • Union Environment: Experience working in a unionized environment or knowledge of collective bargaining agreements.
    • Safety Culture: Understanding of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) culture and its integration with people practices.
