    Logistics Planning & Execution:

    • Develop and implement detailed logistics plans (Method Statements) for the transportation of heavy and abnormal loads.
    • Conduct route surveys, including analysis of road conditions, bridge capacities, overhead obstructions, and site accessibility.
    • Select and manage specialized transport subcontractors (e.g., multi-axle trailer operators, crane companies, shipping lines).
    • Prepare and manage all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations (for cross-border moves), dangerous goods notes, and permits.

    Permitting & Regulatory Compliance:

    • Secure all necessary permits from road, police, and railway authorities for abnormal load movements.
    • Ensure strict compliance with all local, national, and international regulations (e.g., road traffic acts, IMDG Code, IMO regulations).
    • Stay updated on changes in transport laws and permit requirements in relevant operating regions.

    On-Site Supervision & Field Leadership:

    • Directly supervise loading, securing, transportation, unloading, and positioning of heavy equipment on project sites.
    • Enforce rigorous adherence to safe work practices, cargo securing standards (e.g., DIN/EN 12195), and company HSE policies.
    • Conduct pre- and post-trip briefings with transport crews and escorts.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve logistical issues in real-time during operations.

    Team & Contractor Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of logistics personnel and field operatives.
    • Manage the performance of third-party logistics service providers, ensuring they meet contractual SLAs and safety standards.
    • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for direct reports.

    Client & Stakeholder Communication:

    • Serve as the main logistics point of contact for project managers and clients.
    • Provide regular updates on shipment status, potential delays, and mitigation plans.
    • Liaise with engineering teams on load-out sequences and lifting plans.

    Cost Control & Reporting:

    • Monitor logistics expenditures against the project budget.
    • Approve transporter invoices and manage claims for damages or delays.
    • Maintain accurate records and generate reports on logistics performance, incidents, and KPIs.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential:

    • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent extensive experience will be considered.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in heavy-haul, project, or break-bulk logistics, with at least 2-3 years in a direct supervisory role.

    Technical Knowledge:

    • Proficient in route planning software and MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel).
    • Strong knowledge of national and regional permit processes for abnormal loads.
    • Certifications: Valid driver’s license. Certifications in Dangerous Goods Handling (ADR/IMDG), Crane & Rigging, and/or professional logistics (e.g., CIPs) are highly advantageous.
