About the Role

• As the Senior Investment Associate, you will play a pivotal role in our team, supporting senior management in raising capital and making investment decisions.
• You will leverage your financial modelling, analysis, due diligence, strategic nous and market research expertise to deliver high-quality solutions to our firm and clients.

What you’ll do

• Work with Rensource management to develop, monitor, and drive strategic value-creation initiatives.
• Support deal processing and assist the commercial team with preparations for investment committee presentations, due diligence process, and management of virtual data rooms
• Support the head of Investments with investor Q&A, investor deck preparation, handling of all relevant financial, legal, environmental, and corporate documents, investor on-site visits, advisor selection and coordination amongst other activities
• Facilitate end-to-end capital-raising efforts, overseeing virtual data rooms, coordinating investor Q&A sessions, planning roadshows, and providing negotiation support across various financial, legal, environmental, and corporate affairs.
• Develop and present comprehensive business cases and strategic analysis to support management decisionmaking.
• Tracking and reporting portfolio performance to the board and or potential investors
• Updating our financial and pricing models to reflect market changes and projections to create strategic advantages for our firm.
• Build and maintain high-quality and comprehensive financial models to support Rensource’s drive in the energy industry.

Your skills and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or accounting, is recommended.
• An MSc in finance or a similar field would be preferred
• At least 5 years of work experience in a detail-oriented financial role such as investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, finance, or strategy consulting.
• Hands-on experience with financial analysis, modelling, company valuations, due diligence and capital raises is appreciated
• Knowledge of the energy industry and its intricacies will be valued
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

About the role

• As the Senior Business Development Manager, you’ll identify and pursue new sales prospects and develop strategies that align with Rensource’s goals within the energy industry.
• You will also be tasked with negotiating commercially  viable deals for all stakeholders.

What you’ll do

• Develop and implement effective sales strategies in line with Rensource’s strategic goals.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities via several channels to secure sizeable renewable energy and  hybrid contracts with Commercial and Industrial clients
• Conduct thorough market research to identify trends and opportunities whilst developing strategies that would  provide an advantage for Rensource in the renewable energy/hybrid sector in Africa.
• Develop market entry and expansion strategies tailored to different markets within Africa.
• Provide strategic and commercial insights and recommendations to senior management on potential markets  and business models.
• Oversee the development and execution of renewable energy/hybrid projects from inception to financial close,  ensuring they meet technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, ESG and legal, to ensure successful  project delivery.
• Oversee project progress, swiftly resolve issues, and ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
• Build a strong network of industry contacts to enhance the Rensource’s strategic positioning.
• Prepare pricing models and drive the Investment committee discussions for potential project investments.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure commercially viable terms for Rensource Energy
• Lead commercial discussions and agreements with potential clients and stakeholders’ relationship-building with stakeholders to leverage the network for business opportunities and partnerships.

Your skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sales, and marketing or similar fields.
• At least eight years of experience in sales, business development in commercial space
• Proven ability with a strong focus on performance results - evidence of consistently achieving sales targets  through different approaches in current and past employment.
• Able to work effectively in a single contributor role and project team setting given the high-pressure and  complex business environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication 
• Advanced presentation and Excel skills would be prioritized
