Position Summary
The MEAL Officer – Roving is responsible for providing monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning support across GAEFI project locations. The role involves frequent field travel to ensure quality data collection, verification, program monitoring, and documentation of results and lessons learned. The officer will strengthen accountability mechanisms and ensure program decisions are guided by evidence and community feedback.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy fieldwork, data collection, program monitoring, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring & Field Assessments
- Conduct routine field monitoring visits across various project sites.
- Use approved tools (Kobo, ODK, CommCare, SurveyCTO) to collect quality data.
- Support baseline, midline, endline, market assessments, and post-distribution monitoring.
- Verify beneficiary lists, activity outputs, and service delivery quality.
- Identify gaps, risks, and implementation challenges and report them promptly.
Data Management & Quality Assurance
- Ensure timely entry, cleaning, and validation of data.
- Maintain updated beneficiary databases and dashboards.
- Conduct data quality assessments (DQAs) and provide feedback to program teams.
- Support analysis and visualization of data for reporting and decision-making.
Accountability (CFM)
- Strengthen community feedback and response mechanisms (CFM) across project locations.
- Manage feedback channels (hotlines, help desks, boxes, community meetings).
- Ensure proper documentation, classification, referral, and closure of complaints.
- Raise sensitive feedback (safeguarding, GBV, protection) to relevant focal points.
Learning, Reporting & Documentation
- Document lessons learned, success stories, case studies, and significant changes.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and donor reporting with accurate data and analysis.
- Facilitate learning sessions, reflection meetings, and program reviews with teams.
- Capture and share best practices to improve program quality.
Capacity Building
- Train staff, volunteers, and field enumerators on MEAL tools, methodologies, and standards.
- Build capacity on data collection, quality assurance, and accountability mechanisms.
- Support program teams to integrate MEAL principles throughout the project cycle.
Compliance & Safeguarding
- Ensure MEAL activities align with donor requirements and GAEFI guidelines.
- Promote safe programming, protection mainstreaming, and safeguarding.
- Ensure data confidentiality and ethical standards in MEAL processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience working in MEAL roles within NGOs.
- Strong skills in digital data collection tools (Kobo, ODK, CommCare).
- Knowledge of MEAL standards, logical frameworks, indicators, and reporting.
- Experience conducting field assessments, FGDs, KIIs, and household surveys.
Added Advantage
- Experience working on multi-sector humanitarian projects.
- Data analysis skills using Excel, Power BI, SPSS, or similar.
- Experience building and managing accountability systems (CFM).

The Media and Communication Officer is responsible for managing GAEFI’s communication strategies, documentation, branding, public relations, and visibility materials. The role involves producing high-quality media content, strengthening online presence, ensuring donor visibility compliance, and documenting program achievements across all project locations.
This position is ideal for individuals skilled in storytelling, photography, videography, content creation, and communication for development (C4D).
Key Responsibilities
Communication Strategy & Content Production
- Develop and implement GAEFI’s communication and visibility strategy.
- Produce high-quality photos, videos, interviews, and human-interest stories from field locations.
- Create digital and print content such as newsletters, brochures, briefs, posters, and infographics.
- Draft press releases, speeches, talking points, and communication messages.
- Update and maintain media content archives (photos, videos, stories, reports).
Social Media & Online Visibility
- Manage GAEFI’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube).
- Develop creative content to increase engagement and visibility.
- Monitor analytics and provide monthly reports on online performance.
- Ensure consistent branding, high-quality visuals, and timely updates.
Donor Visibility & Branding Compliance
- Ensure all communication materials comply with donor branding requirements.
- Support field teams to meet donor visibility standards during activities and distributions.
- Produce visibility materials such as banners, signboards, stickers, and branded items.
Documentation & Reporting
- Document project achievements, best practices, impact stories, and lessons learned.
- Support teams in developing high-quality project reports and success stories.
- Participate in field monitoring visits for documentation purposes.
- Maintain updated communication and documentation databases.
Media Relations & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with local and international media outlets.
- Facilitate media coverage of GAEFI activities when required.
- Organize press briefings, field visits, and communication events.
- Represent GAEFI in communication-related working groups and forums.
Internal Communication
- Support staff communication needs, including newsletters and internal updates.
- Strengthen knowledge-sharing and organizational learning through documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- BSc. in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, or related field.
- 2–4 years experience in media, communication, or documentation roles.
- Strong photography and videography skills.
- Proficiency in editing tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Premiere Pro, or similar).
- Experience in writing reports, stories, and communication materials.
- Ability to travel frequently to field sites.

The Partnership Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing, and strengthening partnerships with donors, government institutions, NGOs, community organizations, and private-sector actors. The role ensures efficient communication, compliance with partnership agreements, and coordinated implementation of joint activities.
The position requires strong diplomacy, communication, documentation, and relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development & Management
- Identify, initiate, and maintain partnerships with NGOs, UN agencies, government ministries, CSOs, and local organizations.
