    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

    Details:

    Overall Purpose (of the Job): Under the guidance and supervision of the director programs, this position will provide, technical inputs and coordination in developing, implementing state specific work plans and monitoring including proper documentation of reports and documents. This position will also assist the project teams in developing their M&E plans, build the capacities of the team members on the use of the M&E tools and provide leadership in monitoring their activities

    Main Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Assist the teams in Developing their work plans
    • Build the capacities of the team and partners on the use of the M&E tools
    • Provide leadership in monitoring their activities
    • Conduct weekly /monthly monitoring and supportive supervision at state level
    • Conduct quarterly data quality assurance with team members
    • Collate and aggregate service data at state level
    • Facilitate M&E trainings
    • Conduct all mapping exercises
    • Quarterly evaluation of progress
    • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    Key Outputs:

    • development of M&E framework and Work plans in place.
    • Data collection and Quarterly Data Quality Assurance
    • Weekly and monthly progress reports
    • Bi annual and Annual data results
    • Community mapping of stakeholders and engagement
    • Up to date accurate documentation of all activity reports, monthly reports and correspondences

    Employee Specification:

    Mandatory:

    • Minimum of Bachelor Degree in social sciences or statistics
    • Minimum of three years relevant work experience in public and NGO field
    • Research, data analysis and project management skills.
    • Excellent conceptual, analytical, writing as well as oral communication and facilitation skills.
    • High computer skills in the use of relevant software for data analysis and presentation

    Project Manager

    Details:
    Overall Purpose (of the Job): The purpose of this position is to provide overall leadership in  coordinating and providing quality leadership in the implementation of donor funded project in Kano state

    Main Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical leadership and oversight for the planning and implementation of all technical services under the project.
    • Organize and coordinate technical assistance  and take responsibility for oversight of the inputs of consultants and other service providers.
    • Represent SWODEN in relevant events and activities on the project
    • Undertake desk research, data gathering and analysis in order to document experience, lessons learned and best practice
    • Lead in the conduct of project review events and work planning retreat and contributing ideas to inform strategy review and development of the organization on continuous basis
    • Monitoring, documenting and disseminating outcomes of services provided
    • Designing and providing hands-on technical assistance on the field based on established needs and requirements
    • Developing and producing monthly progress reports and contributing to the production of high quality  reports for submission to  donors and clients
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the ED

    Key Outputs:

    • Quarterly work plan, yearly work plan and progress reports
    • Networking and visible representation of SWODEN
    • Implementation of Project Activities
    • Results based approach to and management of SWODEN technical services
    • Leadership and Support to other team leaders and staff
    • Documentation of all activities and submission of reports

    Employee Specification:

    • Minimum of post graduate degree in public administration, public health or any related discipline.
    • Minimum of four (5) years relevant work experience
    • Strong knowledge of working in the development sector and donors
    • Excellent conceptual, analytical, writing and oral communication skills
    • Strong team playing qualities/experience
    • Mature, sensitive and caring but firm and decisive; able to assume and account for highest level of management responsibility.
    • Tolerant of ideas, opinions and views of others

    Essential Job Functions:

    The Human Resource/Admin Officer works to improve processes and policies, manage administrative staff, and lead long term organizational planning. Specific responsibilities include:

    • Management: manages daily office operations, manages vendor relationships, develops and oversees office standard operating procedures.
    • Technology: oversees network administration, manages phone system and evaluates information systems.
    • Human Resources: oversees the organization’s human resources requirements; including employee on-boarding, managing and administering health and other employee benefits, maintaining personnel records, monitoring insurance coverage and ensuring that personnel policies are up-to-date and implemented
    • Manage Administrative Staff: including front of office, and travel coordination.
    • Other responsibilities, as agreed with the ED

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Proven management leadership skills, while taking a “hands on” implementation approach when needed,
    • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
    • Flexibility and ability to work on multiple projects
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate in a compelling fashion SWODEN’s mission and programmatic goals and achievements to diverse stakeholders
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • Ability to use considerable judgment, initiative and independence
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to work comfortably with diverse populations, with sensitivity to issues concerning gender and all disabilities..
    • Ability to see well enough to use computer efficiently and read computer reports and correspondence 100% of the time

    Education and Experience

    • BA or HND in business or international business or related field; at least 3 years of successful experience operational management; human resource experience desirable; experience in conducting business in highly politicized environments
    • Preferred: experience in non-profit and/or for-profit organizational development; experience in nonprofit management and public administration;
