    Business Development Manager - Kano

    Description

     

    This role will help develop a stable pipeline of new opportunities from inception to close and maintain the relationship thereafter. Coinciding with sales, the role will have involvement in strategic marketing, developing presentations, proposals and delivering them. Alongside the client-facing elements of the role, the Business Development Manager will be expected to provide site assessments/studies, developing new projects and contract development, and maintain the financial relationship between the client and the company, especially with reference to revenue generation.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    You will be a proactive and integral member of the Business Development team to carry out the following

    • Create and deliver presentations and proposals to prospects
    • Lead client conversations through emails, phone calls and in-person meetings.
    • Drive the sales process from proposal to getting a signed contract.
    • Support other members of the BD team is pipeline development and lead conversion
    • Prepare tenders, quotes, respond to RFP, when required, and negotiate and onboard C&I customers.
    • Manage business communications internally and externally, including project press releases, case study development and establish scalable promotional tools and processes including B2B digital marketing.
    • Work with the legal department to tailor contracts to clients' needs
    • Oversee and analyze energy audits on client sites.
    • Develop a project plan to execute a sales contract.
    • Lead market research and identify solar energy projects throughout Nigeria.
    • Review technological trends in the local and global energy sector.
    • Liaise with regulatory and governmental institutions as required.

    Requirements

    Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • B. Eng./ B.Sc. Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Business Management, or related field
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, passion for solar energy, digital products, analytical capabilities, leadership skills and the ability to manage and drive multiple projects
    • Experience using CRM tools (e.g. Odoo)
    • Excellent command of Microsoft Office and Internet tools
    • Experience using solar design tools (e.g. PVSyst, Helioscope, Homer) is a plus
    • Strong oral and written communications skills - English (expert), other Nigerian languages.
