    Administrative Officer

    DUTIES:

    • Handle correspondence, schedule meetings, manage travel arrangements, and organize documents for the Unit
    • Provide administrative support to outstations in Nigeria, ensuring smooth coordination with Ibadan headquarters
    • Manage unit impress, process staff overtime, and oversee claims reimbursement in line with financial policies
    • Support budget preparation, expense monitoring, and reconciliation for cost-recovery reporting and unit operations
    • Draft statements, handle incoming calls, and prepare responses on behalf of the Unit Head
    • Work closely with the Head of Farm Management, proactively bringing up matters requiring attention
    • Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and meeting documents for management and stakeholders
    • Manage procurement of materials, consumables, and small equipment, ensuring timely supply for operations
    • Maintain an organized filing system (both digital and physical) for records of correspondence, financial documents, and operational reports
    • Liaise with People & Culture, Finance, Procurement, and other service units for seamless operations
    • Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor

    Requirements
    QUALIFICATION:

    • HND/BSc in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance or any other related course. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of Three (3) years' experience in performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
    • Professional certification/ Training in Financial management, office administration or project management is desirable.

    COMPETENCIES:
    The ideal candidate must:

    • Possess strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
    • Be proficient in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Demonstrate knowledge of financial record-keeping, imprest management, and claims processing
    • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism
    • Have experience working with ERP/Oracle systems
    • Be skilled in presentation design, communication support, report writing, and data analysis.

    Facilities Supervisor

    DUTIES: 

    • Carry out general maintenance of screenhouses and glasshouses to ensure proper functioning and compliance with research requirements.
    • Supervise screenhouse staff, technicians, and casual workers engaged in maintenance and construction.
    • Supervise and coordinate the construction of new screenhouses and related infrastructure.
    • Conduct repairs, including replacement of roofing glass, nets, and frames; oversee washing, cleaning, and fumigation of screen/glasshouses.
    • Conduct daily inspections of all screenhouses and glasshouses to identify repair or maintenance needs.
    • Oversee requisition, collection, and proper utilization of materials for screenhouse construction and repairs, ensuring accountability.
    • Maintain accurate daily reports on maintenance, construction, and operational activities.
    • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during construction and maintenance work.
    • Support cost-recovery planning by tracking labor, materials, and maintenance costs for proper budgeting and reporting.
    • Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATION:

    • HND/BSc in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Technology or any other related course. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of Two (2) years’ experience in performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
    • Professional certification/ Training in Health Safety & Environment (HS&E) or risk management is desirable.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Possess strong technical knowledge of screenhouse/glasshouse maintenance and repair.
    • Be able to read and interpret construction drawings and technical manuals.
    • Be skilled in cost tracking, reporting, and documentation.
    • Have training in project or construction supervision.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of automated screenhouse systems (e.g., temperature, humidity, and irrigation controls).
    • Have experience in research farm infrastructure or controlled environment agriculture.
    • Be proficient in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Have experience working with ERP or facility management software.

    Senior Fabricator/ Welder

    DUTIES: 

    • Weld and repair farm machinery and implements, including tractors, irrigation equipment, and heavy-duty tools.
    • Fabricate metal structures for research facilities (screenhouses, greenhouses, irrigation frames, trial plot fencing).
    • Measure, cut and prepare metal materials according to design specifications.
    • Employ appropriate welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick welding, arc welding, gas welding, etc.) to produce strong, precise, and safe welds.
    • Carry out preventative maintenance on welded structures to ensure long-term durability and reduce replacement costs.
    • Maintain safe working conditions and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
    • Keep accurate daily records of welding and fabrication activities, including materials used and labor hours (to support cost-recovery tracking).
    • Provide input to equipment investment plans by reporting recurring fabrication/repair needs.
    • Train and guide junior welders or casual staff on proper welding techniques and safety practices.
    • Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATION:

    • HND/BSc in Agricultural Engineering, Welding/ Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or any other related course. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
    • Professional certification/ Training in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHA, or Nigerian equivalent) is desirable.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Be skilled in MIG, TIG, stick, and gas welding techniques.
    • Have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
    • Possess strong knowledge of metals, alloys, and welding consumables.
    • Have experience with CNC cutting or advanced metalworking tools.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of and strict adherence to workplace safety standards, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of welding and fabrication equipment.
    • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Have experience working with ERP systems or work order tracking software.
