Job Summary

The Account Officer will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting in daily accounting operations within the oil and gas business. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented graduate with basic accounting knowledge and willingness to learn industry-specific financial practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records and reports
• Record daily financial transactions and ensure proper documentation
• Support accounts payable and receivable processing
• Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts
• Assist in invoice generation, verification, and filing
• Help track expenses related to operations, logistics, and procurement
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures
• Assist in preparing audit schedules and responding to audit queries
• Maintain proper filing system (digital and physical) for financial documents
• Liaise with vendors and internal departments on payment-related matters

Required Skills & Competencies

• Basic understanding of accounting principles (IFRS knowledge is an advantage)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good numerical and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (typical in oil & gas operations)
