    Workshop Manager - Golden Penny Foods, Apapa

    PURPOSE ​

    To ensure that all mechanical repair, overhaul, and refurbishment activities supporting flour milling operations are performed safely, professionally, and to OEM standards, while leading a large workshop team, being accountable for improving reliability, precision machining quality, Aerzen blower maintenance capability, roll stand roller refurbishment, and overall workshop performance, and driving the full transformation of the workshop into a 5S-compliant, computerized, and data-driven repair environment.

    THE JOB

    • Oversee the repair, overhaul, and testing of gearboxes, Aerzen blowers, airlocks, rotary valves, conveyors, milling equipment, and related components, while ensuring high-precision roll stand roller refurbishment, including fluting, grinding, sand blasting, polishing, inspection, and tolerance verification, maintaining OEM tolerances for all rotating and static components, and approving and signing off all critical repairs before release to production.
    • Build strong in-house capability for overhaul and diagnostics of Aerzen blowers, ensure correct fluting profiles, pitch, and differential in line with milling specifications, manage the workflow of rolls received from internal and regional mills, and maintain accurate records of roll life cycles and corrugation schedule.
    • Plan and supervise the safe and professional operation of all workshop machines, ensure the safe use of machinery, lifting equipment, welding and grinding machines, enforce strict workshop safety procedures, and ensure all work meets the highest machining and workshop standards to the milling performance requirements.

    THE PERSON MUST 

    • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Have a prior workshop leadership/management experience.
    • Have experience maintaining, repairing and refurbishing rotating equipment including blowers.
      • Have good computer literacy skills, be able to create and manage data tracking all equipment movements and repairs through the workshop and be able to generate management reports.

    QUALIFICATION

    • B.Sc. or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Relevant certifications in electrical safety, industrial maintenance, mechanical diagnostics, or precision machining will be an added advantage.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 7 years of Cognate Experience in flour milling workshop repairs, roll stand refurbishment, or heavy industrial machining, with a strong background in mechanical repair workshop.
