Translator-Chinese at Transinnovation Motors Nigeria Limited (TIM Motors)

We are seeking a skilled and professional Chinese Translator to support effective communication between our company and Chinese-speaking partners, clients, and staff. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English and will provide oral interpretation and written translation services in business, technical, and general contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate spoken conversations and written documents from Chinese (Mandarin) to English and vice versa.
• Interpret business meetings, conferences, and training sessions accurately and efficiently.
• Translate technical documents such as manuals, reports, contracts, and correspondences.
• Serve as a liaison between Chinese expatriates and local staff to ensure clear communication and cultural understanding.
• Provide administrative and language support to expatriate employees when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all translations and interpretations.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing bilingual communications.
• Collaborate with HR, operations, and management to support cross-cultural team effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Chinese Language, Linguistics, International Relations, or related field.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and English is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as a translator/interpreter (preferably in a corporate or manufacturing environment).

• Ability to work in a multicultural team and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

• Prior experience working in a Chinese company or with Chinese nationals.
• Familiarity with technical or industrial terminologies (manufacturing, construction, logistics, etc.).
• Residency within Lagos or Ogun State or willingness to relocate.
