Academic/Professional: 

• BSc. Degree from a reputable Tertiary Institution and preferably from a numerate field (Sciences, Engineering, Economics or Finance). Diploma in Investment Operations (CISI UK) or/and CFA level 1 is an advantage Relevant postgraduate (MSc, MBA) and/or professional qualification (ACA/ACCA etc) would be an added advantage.

Work experience: 

• Minimum 1 year work experience.

Job Level: 

• This position has been profiled as a minimum Analyst role owing to the defined skill level, years of experience and complexities of the task to be performed.

Grade Level: 

• This position has been profiled as a minimum Grade Level 8 owing to the defined skill level, years of experience and complexities of the task to be performed.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with all the internal and external partners to ensure the business (and team) meets pre-agreed turnaround timeline.
• Frequent reconciliation of various accounts, or reviewing reconciliations prepared by others, and promptly researching and correcting any variances.
• Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records and prices, communicating same to Team Lead/Head, Investment Operations & Fund Accounts, and assisting in their resolution.
• Write reports periodically to management on Fund activities and other related issues.
• Deliver accurate and timely production and delivery of reporting to clients by ensuring efficient and accurate trade processing.
• Ensure daily reconciliation of all postings and ledgers on the CBAs vis-à-vis entries in bank.
• Provide guidance to relevant stakeholders on recommendations to resolve pending reconciliation items.
• Escalate all outstanding reconciliation items above agreed threshold and age to the Head, Investment Operations & Fund Accounts.
• Knowledge of the financial service industry with preference for Insurance Industry/Investment Business.
• Process all operating expenses related to the business from the appropriate bank accounts.
• Responsible for the filing and storage of all appropriate documentations.
• Responsible for the data integrity of all entries on the CBA.
• Ensure timely settlement of all wire transfers (inward or outwards) and related to investments.
• Ensure timely settlement of all financial securities with the relevant counterparties.
• Strong aptitude in decision-making, time management and problem solving.
• Superior analytical & critical thinking skills; ability to make good decisions when faced with complex data.
• Ability to multi-task; juggle multiple deliverables and perform under very demanding conditions.
• Stay abreast of regulatory reform and impact on the business; and helps to ensure the business is best positioned to respond
