    Storekeeper

    About the Role

    • The Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, recording, storing, and issuing all materials, ingredients, and supplies. The role ensures accurate stock levels, proper documentation, and timely replenishment to support smooth kitchen and operational activities.

    Key Responsibilities
    Receiving & Documentation:

    • Receive all incoming goods (raw materials, packaging, cleaning supplies, etc.).
    • Verify quantities, quality, and condition against purchase orders and delivery notes.
    • Reject and document any damaged, wrong, or incomplete items.
    • Ensure proper entry of all received stock into the inventory system.

    Storage & Organisation:

    • Arrange and label items properly in designated shelves, racks, and cold storage.
    • Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) for all perishable and non-perishable items.
    • Ensure storage areas are clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards.
    • Monitor temperature logs for chilled and frozen items (where applicable).

    Stock Issuance:

    • Issue materials to kitchen and other departments based on approved requisition forms.
    • Record all outflows accurately in the inventory system.
    • Ensure accurate daily, weekly, and monthly stock reconciliation.

    Stock Control & Reporting:

    • Conduct regular stock counts (daily spot checks, weekly and monthly counts).
    • Report variances immediately and follow up on resolutions.
    • Monitor stock levels and notify the Inventory/Operations Manager of low or excess inventory.
    • Track usage patterns and suggest improvements to reduce wastage.

    Compliance & Safety:

    • Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, HACCP, and safety standards.
    • Secure the store to prevent pilferage, damage, and contamination.
    • Follow company policies for handling sensitive or high-value materials.

    Vendor & Logistics Coordination:

    • Communicate delivery discrepancies to procurement.
    • Support in coordinating returns, replacements, or warranty claims.
    • Assist in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers through timely feedback.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree with 1 year experience.
