    Social Cohesion Intern

    Locations: Jere and Kukawa, Borno
    Slots: Jere (2) and Kukawa (2)

    Position Summary

    • The Social Cohesion Project Interns are in charge of supporting Community Mobilization Officers in organizing and implementing project activities, mobilizing participants, documenting activity outputs and impacts, collecting participant’s feedbacks during activities, and other duties as assigned.

    Reporting Line:

    • The Social Cohesion Interns will be managed and supervised by the Community Mobilization Officer.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Support Community Mobilization Officers in implementing social cohesion activities (including door-to-door sensitization)  dialogue platform meetings, and community initiatives following a participatory and conflict-sensitive approach in the project’s target communities
    • Ensure thorough documentation of activity outputs according to M&E protocols
    • Collecting participant feedback during activities and draft activity reports
    • Support project team to ensure all logistics and financial documentation for the project activities follow Search’s policies and compliance measures
    • Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to adapt programming to further support social cohesion in target areas.

    Requirements

    • National Diploma in any relevant field.
    • Experience working with communities to organize and facilitate community driven activities
    • Support in facilitating workshops or meetings and engagement experience in the context of Borno State
    • Experience working with community groups in Borno state.

    Other Relevant Requirements:

    • Excellent in arranging for logistics for activities
    • Average communication and report writing skills in English
    • Must be fluent in Hausa, knowledge of other languages indigenous to Northeastern Nigeria (especially Kanuri) will be an added advantage
    • Basic IT and typing skills
    • Motivation and self-discipline to work without supervision.
