PRIDE Initiative, a humanitarian non-governmental organization which is dedicated to providing emergency assistance and supporting vulnerable communities, seeks experienced Site Facilitators to join our team.
Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and motivated Site Facilitators to support the effective delivery of humanitarian services in IDP camps and host communities. Successful candidates will facilitate community engagement, coordination, and communication, ensuring that the needs of vulnerable populations are met.
Responsibilities:
Community Engagement:
- Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders and camp residents.
- Facilitate community meetings, focus groups, and other participatory activities.
- Ensure active participation of women, children, and marginalized groups.
Service Coordination:
- Coordinate with service providers (e.g., WASH, health, education).
- Monitor service delivery and report gaps or concerns.
- Ensure referral mechanisms are in place.
Communication:
- Facilitate communication between camp residents, service providers, and authorities.
- Provide information on available services, rights, and entitlements.
- Support two-way feedback mechanisms.
Camp Management:
- Assist in maintaining camp infrastructure and facilities.
- Support camp maintenance and upgrade activities.
- Report maintenance needs and concerns.
Protection:
- Identify and report protection concerns (GBV, child protection).
- Support referral pathways for vulnerable individuals.
- Promote protection mainstreaming.
Reporting:
- Submit regular reports on site activities and concerns.
- Provide input for program planning and development.
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in humanitarian response, community development, or related field.
- Proven experience working with IDPs, refugees, or vulnerable populations.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with other humanitarian agencies.
- Knowledge of international humanitarian law and human rights.
- Certification in first aid, protection, or related areas.
Skills:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and community mobilization skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in local languages (Hausa, Kanuri) and English.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
Core Competencies:
- Understanding of humanitarian principles and standards.
- Experience with community engagement and participation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
