his is a full-time, on-site Senior Portfolio Manager role based in Lagos. The Senior Portfolio Manager will oversee the construction, management, and optimization of investment portfolios across asset classes in line with clients’ risk profiles and return objectives.
Daily responsibilities include monitoring market developments, performing fundamental and quantitative analyses, rebalancing portfolios, and executing trades in compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements. The role involves developing and refining investment strategies, preparing investment proposals, and providing regular performance reports and insight-driven commentary to clients and internal stakeholders.
The Senior Portfolio Manager will also mentor junior team members, collaborate with research, sales, and risk teams, and participate in investment committee meetings to support firm-wide portfolio decisions.
Qualifications
Strong portfolio and investment management capabilities, including asset allocation, security selection, and portfolio optimization.
Advanced analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret macroeconomic trends, company fundamentals, and market data.
Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and use of portfolio management or analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, or similar platforms).
Solid understanding of capital markets, investment products (equities, fixed income, money markets, and alternatives), and risk management principles.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex investment concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders and clients.
Proven experience in a portfolio management or closely related investment role, preferably within an asset management or investment banking environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field; relevant postgraduate degree is an advantage.
Professional certifications such as CFA, CIS, or other recognized investment qualifications are highly desirable.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring, team collaboration, and contributing to a high-performance culture.
High ethical standards, sound judgment, and strict adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements.
