Rector at The International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC)

The Position

• Applicants for the position of Rector must possess demonstrable evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in policy implementation, management of human and material resources, good human relations and other positive management attributes.
• The Rector is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer. He is head of Management and the Accounting Officer of the College. He is responsible for the execution of the policies of the council and the day to day administration of the college.
• The Rector is also responsible for maintaining discipline in the institution in accordance with the College Law and General Principles as set by the council.

Qualifications and Experience
The applicant for the post is expected to possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Minimum of Master’s Degree and preferably Doctorate Degree from a recognized institution in any of the following: Engineering, Science and Technology.
• Must be a Chief Lecturer or its equivalent with not less than five (5) years experience on the rank.
• Must not be more than 60 years of age as of the time of assumption of duty.
• Must demonstrate familiarity with enterprise, technical and vocational education.
• Must provide evidence of membership of relevant professional bodies.
• Must provide evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals as well as presentation of invited papers at educational conferences seminars and workshops.
• Must be able to attract research grants and development facilities to the institution.
• Must be a person with initiative and vision with the capacity to sustain the development of the institution even under financial and other challenging constraints.
• Must be proficient in Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
• Be on high pedestal of moral authority, of impeccable character and unassailable integrity, free from financial embarrassment and enjoy excellent physical and mental health.

Terms of Appointment / Condition of Service

• The appointment is for a term of four (4) years in the first instance and renewable subject to satisfactory performance for another term of four (4) years and no more.
• The salary is consolidated and as approved by the Kwara State Government for principal officers of state-owned tertiary institutions.
