    Project Officer (Gender and Protection)

    Job Summary:

    • The Project Officer – Gender/Protection will ensure mainstreaming of gender and protection principles across all project activities, provide psychosocial support, and conduct awareness-raising campaigns on gender-based violence.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct gender and protection assessments
    • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and sectors for information sharing.
    • Provide training on gender equality and GBV prevention.
    • Support referrals and case management for survivors
    • Lead awareness campaigns and community dialogues

    Tasks:

    • Develop IEC materials on gender/protection
    • Train staff and community actors on safeguarding
    • Conduct safety audits and recommend mitigation measures

    Other duties/additional tasks

    • Represent the project in gender/protection sector meetings
    • Support M&E with gender-disaggregated data analysis
    • Ensure compliance with donor guidelines and organizational policies.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Social Work, or other related fields.
    • Specialized training in Gender/Protection is an advantage.
    • Ability to work independently and in a multicultural team environment.
    • Proficiency in report writing and Microsoft Office tools.

    Preferred Skills & Competencies:

    • Knowledge of Gender and Protection Standards
    • Experience working with conflict-affected populations
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Familiarity with referral pathways in Adamawa State
