    Project Manager - Metering & Renewable Energy

    Job Summary

    • Turbo Energy is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager with a strong background in electrical engineering, renewable energy, and metering solutions to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple energy projects across Nigeria.
    • The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, a strong grasp of project management methodologies, and a proven ability to deliver results in the power and energy sector.

    Key Responsibilities
    Project Management:

    • Lead end-to-end execution of renewable energy and metering projects, including solar installations, smart meter rollouts, and energy infrastructure upgrades.
    • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
    • Monitor progress, ensure adherence to timelines, and resolve project delays and risks effectively.
    • Prepare and deliver regular project updates to internal and external stakeholders.

    Technical Oversight:

    • Review technical designs, drawings, and specifications related to renewable energy systems and metering infrastructure.
    • Coordinate site surveys, feasibility studies, and energy audits as needed.
    • Supervise technical teams and contractors to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
    • Support commissioning, testing, and handover processes.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, vendors, clients, and project partners to ensure smooth implementation.
    • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely delivery of equipment and materials.
    • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements, standards, and contracts.

    Team Leadership:

    • Manage a cross-functional team of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery.
    • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and performance monitoring for junior team members.
    • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the project team.

    Financial & Contract Management:

    • Track project expenditures and variances, ensuring optimal use of financial resources.
    • Contribute to bid preparation, BOQs, contract negotiations, and vendor selection.
    • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed margins and profitability targets.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree or MBA is a plus).
    • 5–8 years of experience in project management within the energy sector, specifically in renewable energy and metering projects.
    • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is strongly preferred.
    • Proven experience managing EPC projects, metering infrastructure deployments, or hybrid solar systems.
    • Solid knowledge of NERC regulations, DISCO engagement protocols, and renewable energy standards in Nigeria.

    Key Competencies & Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
    • Excellent understanding of electrical systems, solar PV technology, and metering frameworks (prepaid/postpaid, AMI, etc.).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
    • Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, and other project tools/software.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

    Work Environment & Travel:

    • Primary location is Abuja, with frequent travel to project sites across Nigeria.
    • Field work may include extended stays in off-grid or rural areas.
