    Junior Legal Officer

    We are a leading Downstream Oil & Gas Company in Nigeria. As part of our expansion and development programmes, we are seeking to hire a diligent, detail-oriented, experienced, and self-driven individual to fill the position of a Junior Legal Officer.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the provision of internal advisory services on matters relating to the company’s operations.
    • Assist with dispute resolution processes and negotiations under
    • Support corporate activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Assist in preparing and maintaining company-wide compliance check-lists.
    • Provide support in corporate, litigation and regulatory matters, including filing and regularization of annual returns with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), attending court proceedings, conducting legal searches, and monitoring title perfection processes at relevant land registries.
    • Liaise with external counsel to follow up on pending litigations matters.
    • Assist with contract lifecycle management, including drafting, vetting and negotiating
    • Maintain proper filing and documentation of executed contracts and other corporate records.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned in line with operational requirements.

    Qualification/Experience/Key Competencies:

    • A minimum of B, BL degrees, with at least a Second Class (Upper Division).
    • 3–5 years post-call experience, including 3 years in a law firm. Oil & gas industry experience of 2 years or more is an advantage.
    • Excellent Business Writing and drafting Skills
    • Experience engaging with relevant government, maritime, local content agencies,
    • Excellent relationship management and communication abilities for interaction with internal/external parties.
    • Proactive, with a high sense of confidentiality and professionalism.
