    Procurement Manager

    Job Description

    •  Devise and implement effective procurement and sourcing strategies
    •  Discover profitable suppliers and initiate procurement partnerships
    •  Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers
    •  Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements
    •  Build long-term relationships with vendors in the industry.
    •  Process purchase orders to acquire goods
    •  Compare quotes for price and specifications.
    •  Negotiate costs of supplies with vendors to reduce costs and secure advantageous terms
    •  Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing
    •  Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production
    •  Work closely with the inventory department to ensure smooth flow of production processes.

    Requirements and skills

    •  First degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
    •  Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer or Head of Procurement
    •  Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
    •  Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques
    •  Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
    •  Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
    •  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
    •  Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
    •  Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    •  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    •  Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
    •  Experience in collecting and analyzing data
    •  Strong leadership capabilities
    •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    •  Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions
    •  Able to work overtime as may be required
