Pharmacy Technician at Havana Specialist Hospital

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, packaging, labeling, and dispensing medications accurately.
• Detect therapeutic incompatibilities during drug preparation and promptly report findings to the prescribing physician or supervising pharmacist.
• Support the procurement, receipt, storage, and inventory management of drugs and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Maintain accurate drug records, prescriptions, and inventory documentation.
• Ensure proper storage conditions and adherence to drug safety and control standards.
• Participate in continuous education and professional development programs, including clinical meetings and pharmacy trainings.
• Assist with routine departmental risk management, quality improvement, and health & safety assessments in line with hospital policies.
• Provide courteous and professional service to patients and other hospital staff.
• Support pharmacists and pharmacy team members with assigned duties as required.
• Comply with hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an accredited healthcare or hospital setting.
• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology or a related field.
• Must be a certified and registered member of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications.
• Experience using computer software for drug inventory management is required.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-oriented approach.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and compassion.
• Previous hospital or clinical experience is an added advantage.
