The Night Manager plays a critical leadership role in managing the property’s operations after hours. This position is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all departments during the night shift, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Security.
This role oversees all overnight hotel operations while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records at the close of each business day, acting as the senior on-site authority responsible for financial reconciliation, guest satisfaction, operational continuity, and risk control during night hours.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete night audit process to ensure all room, F&B, events, and ancillary revenues are accurately posted and closed.
- Reconcile Hotel Managements system, room revenue with occupancy reports and POS transactions with cashier summaries.
- Balance all cash, card, transfer, and credit transactions and resolve or escalate discrepancies.
- Supervise late check-ins, early check-outs, room allocations, and upgrades.
- Handle escalated guest complaints and authorize service recovery within approved limits.
- Supervise and coordinate night audit and front desk staff to ensure adequate coverage and performance.
- Enforce attendance, conduct, and service standards for night shift employees.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to night operations staff.
- Enforce internal controls related to cash handling, night safe deposits, refunds, and system access.
- Coordinate with Security to monitor overnight activity and respond to incidents.
- Ensure all incidents are properly documented and escalated according to policy.
- Prepare a structured morning handover report summarizing financial variances, guest issues, maintenance concerns, and security incidents.
- Ensure seamless operational continuity through clear communication with day management.
- Coordinate overnight activities with Housekeeping, Engineering, F&B, and Security teams.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hotel experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of front office procedures, billing, and night audit responsibilities
- Computer literacy is essential – proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems such as Valinno, room master, opera etc. preferred
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills; able to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A hands-on leader who inspires trust, teamwork, and high standards
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- Familiarity with safety and emergency response procedures is a strong asset
