    Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor

    Job Description

    • The Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor will assist in the management of all aspects of monitoring, evaluation, learning and research for the programme.
    • She/he will be a member of a small team based in Abuja Federal Capital Territory and provide support to state offices.
    • The Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor will participate in all MELR activities and reports directly to the Director Monitoring and Evaluation but works collaboratively and closely with other thematic leads and M&E Consultants/Advisors.

    Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL):

    • Manage the project-level M&E plans, including activities related to data collection, data entry, data management, and data analysis.
    • Support the development of qualitative and quantitative reports in line with reporting needs and requirements
    • Conduct project site visits to provide hands-on training to partner staff on how to capture and organize information for accurate documentation and reporting across different program areas including HIV, OVC, sexual and gender-based violence.
    • Conduct regular data quality checks in collaboration with other program staff
    • Support database officer to maintain FRED’s monitoring data information systems and support regular project reviews (including quarterly and annual) and reports development.
    • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using relevant statistical packages and data visualization tools to produce reports.
    • Assist in the development of log frames and indicators for evaluations and impact assessments as necessary.
    • Assist in the integration of research, M&E findings, and other evidence into internal program learning.
    • Develop and execute external learning opportunities as they become available, such as training materials, publications, and case studies.
    • Coordinate and oversee the development of programmatic report for routine submission to donors/lead partners
    • Develop routine factsheet and project briefs to improve the visibility of the project for the organization
    • Strengthen the routine reporting of data from the Client Response Mechanism of the National Human Rights Commission
    • Build the capacity of staff in routine M&E implementation
    • Undertake other assignments from supervisor.

    Results and Research:

    • Provide feedback on program team reports to facilitate the production of internal progress reports as well as contribute to donor reports.
    • Support the conduct of research, including desk and field research, as necessary for ongoing and prospective programming.

    Job Requirements

    • A Master's degree in Public Health, Demography, Statistics, Information Technology, Monitoring and Evaluation or related field. Bachelor's degree / HND accepted with additional years of experience.
    • At least 5 years of directly relevant work experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Exceptional candidates with fewer years of experience will be considered.
    • Experience designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks within the international development and human trafficking and migration sphere.
    • Experience in monitoring and evaluating one or more of the following types of interventions: capacity building, technical assistance, policy analysis, policy advocacy and grant making; and targeting one or more of the following stakeholders: governments, civil society, media, and parliaments towards improvements in governance policy and practice.
    • Experience in analyzing and presenting data effectively for a wide range of audiences, with attention to detail and user profile.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills and fast learner preferred.
    • Ability to work well under pressure to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work environment, as a team player.
    • Competency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and data visualization software packages (tableau, Microsoft PowerBI or similar)
    • Competency in statistical software package (SPSS, EPI-INFO, STATA, SAS or similar desirable).
    • Strong verbal, listening, writing, and intrapersonal skills essential for effective coordination among several institutions and staff involved in a broad range of activities.
