The Lube Sales & Technical Manager (LS&TM) – The position incumbent reports to the Head Sales & Marketing.
The Lube Sales and Technical Manager is responsible for driving sales growth of lubricants by leading business development efforts, managing key
accounts, and delivering technical support to customers and the sales team.
The role requires strong sales acumen, technical expertise in lubricant applications, blending and a deep understanding of market dynamics.
The Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders, blenders, OEMs, distributors, and end-users to grow market share and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and prospect new lubricant customers across all company sales channels as well as seek to create new sales channels
Develop and implement strategies to grow lube sales across target segments through proactive market engagement. (e.g., automotive, industrial, marine, etc.).
Ensure retention of existing customers through monthly lubricant performance reviews for the region.
Manage existing key accounts and distributor relationships to ensure customer retention and revenue growth.
Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics for the lubricant business.
Address and resolve customer complaints or field performance issues in collaboration with the technical team.
Liaise with product development teams or OEMs for new product approvals, certifications, and specifications. Develop the necessary procedures/documents that ensure blend.
Provide technical advice on lubricant selection, application, and performance to customers and partners.
Conduct market analysis to track competitor activities, customer needs, and emerging trends.
Provide accurate lube sales forecast and stock warehouses within the region of coverage to meet sales projection and maintain a healthy reorder level
Monitor all Sales Executives across the nation on lubricant sales performance
Plan, direct and coordinate training of the internal team (including Sales Executive, Attendants, dealers and distributors) and relevant personnel for B2B customers
Deploy technical sales tools (lubes surveys, oil analysis, technical advice etc.) for key customers in your region.
Requirements
A good University Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 8 - 12years post-graduation experience with relevant experience in marketing
