Investment and Trade Facilitation Lead at Welcome2Africa

Overview:

• Welcome2Africa International is seeking a dynamic and experienced Investment and Trade Lead to oversee and manage our investment, trade, and program initiatives.
• The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will play a crucial role in facilitating investments and trade across our sector focus areas, including Agriculture, Maritime, Solid Mineral, and Energy.

Responsibilities:

Investments and Trade:

• Coordinate and oversee Investment and Trade analysts to achieve W2A’s investment and trade objectives.
• Organize and develop investment facilitation activities aimed at promoting investments and trade.
• Develop and engage an investor network/club.
• Develop viable portfolios in Agribusiness, Maritime, Solid Mineral, and Energy sectors.
• Establish an off-taker network across key commodities.
• Facilitate investments and trade by managing all aspects of the deal process, including due diligence, advisor management, site visits, expert interviews, market opportunity assessment, financial forecasting, and portfolio diversification.
• Partner with government agencies, donor organizations, private firms, international organizations, and other stakeholders interested in trade and investment in Africa.
• Serve as the key point of contact for the investment community, managing investor relations, developing a robust investor relations strategy, and enhancing investor confidence in the company’s vision.
• Identify potential investment projects and match them with investors to facilitate partnerships aligned with the organization's goals.
• Assess the feasibility and viability of investment opportunities through detailed financial analysis and risk evaluation.

Programs:

• Oversee the development of programs to ensure that investment and trade facilitation objectives are achieved.

Growth and General:

• Collaborate with the research department to conduct thorough research on international markets, identifying potential investment and trade opportunities.
• Work with the business development and communications departments to ensure that W2A’s communication materials support our investment and trade endeavors.
• Collaborate with the business development department on consultancy initiatives.
• Support the overall development of W2A.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in investment and trade facilitation.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
• Familiarity with investment principles, market analysis, and sector-specific regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and financial software.
• Experience in event promotion and management.
• Strong decision-making abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams.
