    INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (IT)

     

    Nutri K Limited – Is a subsidiary of Nutriset Group which was established to provide technical support in the specialized manufacturing, commercialization and distribution process of ready to-use food for the treatment and prevention of malnutrition in Nigeria.

    With a population of nearly 180 million people, Nigeria is the biggest economy in Africa. However, every year, over 500,000 children under the age of five years old die from malnutrition. About 1.7million of Nigerian children suffer from severe acute malnutrition, and close to a third of the 10 million under 5 age children suffer from chronic malnutrition; NUTRIK LTD is dedicated to the fight against malnutrition in Nigeria. The company specialized in manufacturing nutritional food used for the care of children affected by malnutrition. NUTRIK supplies humanitarian and health programmes with high quality ready-to-use-therapeutic and supplementary food (RUTF, RUSF), as well as lipid-based nutrient supplements (LNS). Nutri K is now looking for Information Technology Officer for its Human Resources & Administration department to carry out its activities in Kano.

    Number of position: 1.

    OVERAL MISSION

    General objective

    The Information Technology (IT) Officer oversees installation, maintenance, upgrading & security of all information technology, purchase of new IT infrastructure & staff, consultation services and training.

    RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS

    • Analyze the requirements and organize the IT resources of Nutri K Limited accordingly.
    • Evaluating the IT needs of Nutri K Limited and choosing the most suitable software, hardware and other IT requirements such as networking.
    • Managing trainees in the IT unit of Nutri K Limited.
    • Ensure that all IT requirements of Nutri K Limited are fulfilled.
    • Ensure the smooth functioning of all IT infrastructure such as servers, network connections, LAN, switches, Routers, Wi-Fi's, IP Surveillance, CCTV, printers, scanners, photocopiers etc besides hardware and software.
    • Ensuring security of the physical and virtual components of Information Technology such as security of the server rooms and installing virus protections and firewalls.
    • Organizing data, storing them securely and creating backups.
    • Participating in budget of the IT unit.
    • Administering and maintaining the LAN and providing support.
    • Responding to and resolving all incident tickets and service requests in a timely manner.
    • Assist in maintaining an up-to-date inventory of IT assets of Nutri K Limited.
    • Availability and reliability of the ICT infrastructure, applications and connectivity.
    • Maintain agreed levels of SLA (Service Level Agreement) and OLAs (Operational Level Agreements).
    • Provide efficient ICT support to deliver program outputs.
    • Propose Technological initiatives for the IT unit.
    • Participate in system & project testing, rollout and certification.
    • Diagnose and repair computer hardware and follow up on equipment sent out for repairs.
    • Provide preventive maintenance of computer hardware, Troubleshoot and assist & support users.
    • Maintain a technical inventory of all computers and accessories of the country and field office.
    • Provide support and guidance for the protection of data, computers, Networks against viruses and physical damage.
    • Organize and train staff to perform the routine IT administration functions.
    • Recommend and advise on the selection of IT service providers for a supplier of maintenance of IT equipment.
    • Supervision of IT functions to ensure that standards of quality are met.
    • Carry out routine backup operation of IT applications and servers and network device configuration data.
    • Assist in hardware and software inventory management.
    • Provide support with vendors/support contract management.
    • Maintain inventory of all software licenses.
    • Handle periodic maintenance of hardware and software.
    • Troubleshoot equipment such as printers and scanners and other peripherals.
    • Take telephone calls from users and attempt to assist them with their information technology questions and problems.
    • Handle IT-related documentation and make sure that all IT supplies are available.
    • Assist in gathering user requirements and developing appropriate reports for IT professionals.
    • Provide users with ongoing assistance in their information technology problems.
    • Ensure adherence to corporate standards, design and architecture.
    • Provide support in setting up end-user training activities.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by line manager.

    REQUIERED SKILLS

    Language skills – English & Hausa.

    Education degree – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical / Electronics Engineering or related field. CCNA and MCSE or CCNP Certification or ITIL Certification will be an added advantage.

    Work experience – Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the ICT industry, Experience in supporting and implementing information technology systems, previous experience in food industry plant experience is a plus.

    Computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook & Experience with ERP programs.

    Other required skills:

    • Sound technical knowledge about IT, security of systems and latest developments in the field.
    • Perform hardware and software installation
    • Perform software configuration on stand-alone computers and laptops
    • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and good listening skills
    • Ability to self-regulate and work under short notice.
    • Excellent in Troubleshooting of mild to complex problems
    • Capacity to build and maintain relationships and to work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting diversity
    • Propose Technological initiatives for the IT unit.
    • Organize and train staff to perform the routine IT administration functions
