Human Resources Officer at Frutta Foods and Services Nigeria Limited

Job Summary

• We are seeking a proactive and experienced Human Resources Officer with full spectrum of HR functions, and a strong focus on our factory's blue-collar workforce. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the FMCG or manufacturing sector and be adept at managing employee relations, recruitment, and compliance. This role is crucial for maintaining a positive and productive work environment, ensuring the company operates in line with all Nigerian labor laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Employee Relations & Industrial Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for all blue-collar employee inquiries, grievances, and disciplinary matters. Mediate conflicts, conduct investigations, and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
• Recruitment and Onboarding: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for factory staff, from sourcing and interviewing to preparing offer letters and conducting new-hire orientation. Ensure all new employees are properly onboarded and trained on company policies, safety standards, and job functions.
• Performance Management & Training: Assist in the implementation of performance appraisal systems for staff. Identify training needs and coordinate with department heads to facilitate relevant training programs, especially for safety, compliance, and skills development.
• HR Administration & Compliance: Manage all employee records and ensure the HR database is accurate and up-to-date. Administer payroll inputs, leave management, and benefits administration. Ensure strict adherence to the Nigerian Labour Act and other relevant regulations.
• Employee Engagement & Welfare: Implement initiatives to improve employee morale, engagement, and retention. Coordinate welfare programs and activities that promote a healthy and safe work environment.
• Health and Safety: Collaborate with the operations and quality teams to enforce health and safety protocols. Ensure employees comply with all safety regulations and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Qualifications & Skills
• Education: A Bachelor's degree or HND in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of professional HR experience in the FMCG or Manufacturing industry is mandatory, with a proven track record of successfully managing a blue-collar workforce.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Experience with HR software/tools and biometric attendance systems is a significant advantage.
