Human Resources Manager at Value Edge Management Service Limited

Job Summary:

The Human Resources  Manager will be responsible for leading, directing, and managing the day-to-day Human Resources activities within the health facility.  The ideal candidate will oversee processes related to recruitment and retention, ensuring compliance with labour laws, and managing compensation and benefits programs. The HR Manager will also focus on training and development initiatives to promote professional growth among staff while  maintaining operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and oversee a recruitment process.
2. Review job advertisements prior to posting.
3. Screen CVs and conduct telephone screenings.
4. Coordinate interview teams and participate in interviews.
5. Ensure documentation is collected and filed.
6. Manage employee engagement initiatives, including new hire orientation and exit processes.
7. Compliance and Record Keeping
8. Annually review the Employee Handbook for necessary amendments due to changes in local conditions or labor laws.
9. Manage office timesheets ensuring timely submission, approval, accuracy, and filing.
10. Monitor compensation for internal equity and compliance with benefits.
11. Facilitate job analysis and update job descriptions as needed.
12. Coordinate with the Finance Manager for monthly payroll preparation.
13. Advise management on staffing levels and assist in budget preparation.
14. Review employee final payments for accuracy and compliance with labour laws.
15. Evaluate training needs for employees and make recommendations.
16. Oversee coordination and implementation of annual performance reviews.
17. Employee Relations
18. Collaborate with senior management to pragmatically resolve employee relations issues.
19. Investigate employee relations issues to ensure consistent and fair human resources-related decisions.

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or related discipline is required.
2. Additionally, professional certification in HR (CIPM/CIPD/SHRM) May be added advantage.

Experience

1. Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR Manager role within a hospital or healthcare setting in Nigeria.
