The HR Business Partner is a strategic internal consultant that works collaboratively with employees and managers to align human resources processes and solutions to meet business needs.
The person in this role will be deeply imbedded in the business units they support, providing coaching and guidance to the company leaders, managers and employees regarding organizational change, employee relations, performance issues, and talent processes.
This will be done while ensuring legal compliance and proactively supporting the strategic direction of the company.
This person also leads projects relative to the strategic development and administration of human resource policies, procedures, and programs to ensure organizational effectiveness and continuous development.
Here's what you'll do:
Provides problem resolution and guidance to all levels of employees and managers regarding employee relations, policies and procedures, grievance, discipline, conflict and career growth
Effectively manages employee relations issues.
Lead investigations and conflict resolution or mediation activities.
Manages key talent management initiatives and services including recruitment, performance management, and organizational design
Consults with business unit managers in the strategic planning process and development of HR strategies that support the unit's business needs
Assists in building a culture which inspires and motivates employees
Develops and maintains strong knowledge of the business and marketplace to better support the assigned business units and provides insight into ways to improve the business
Initiates and designs strategic HR projects
Leads project teams as assigned
Provides guidance and mentoring to other team members
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business or related field
A minimum 2-3 years of previous Business Partner consulting experience
Proven experience in change management
Excellent knowledge of HR practices and principles, performance management, compensation & benefits, health and safety laws and regulations
Able to handle high levels of confidential information
Excellent judgment, planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, organization and interpersonal skills
Ability to influence key decision makers
Committed to a high degree of service-orientation and consultative interaction
