    Head Training and Organizational Development

    JOB SUMMARY

    • The Head of Training and Organizational Development will ensure that performance management (PM) programs are developed and managed and ensure that this process is aligned with the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives as defined by organizational strategic documents.
    • S/he will lead on the development of organizational policies while working with members of the Human Resource team to ensure proper communication, interpretation, and implementation.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Performance Management

    • Lead on the design and improvement of Phase3 Telecom performance management process suitable for the achievement of organizational priorities.
    • Lead on building the capacity of supervisors to correctly interpret the performance management process to enable them work with their line staff to measure, assess impact of performance and develop implementable performance improvement plans.
    • Regularly report the status of performance and capacity improvement efforts and impacts.

    Learning and Development

    • Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for all staff and ensure alignment with Phase Strategic Objectives.
    • Lead on delivery of training and talent development programmes.
    • Facilitate compliance with statutory training requirements.
    • Develop and continuously evaluate Learning and Development schedule annually.
    • Conduct regular Return on Training Investments (ROI) to monitor impact of learning on staff output.
    • Ensure Value for Money (VFM) on all L& D initiatives and also ensure budgetary limits are maintained.
    • Drive internal collaboration, knowledge sharing and learning & development cooperation within and across the organization.
    • Maintain up to date information on learning trends and apply same to improve innovation in-house L&D initiatives.

    Organizational development

    • Actively engage with processes for development and communication of organization wide strategies and lead on Human Resource specific components of such strategies.
    • Lead on processes of collaboration with HR team members to clearly articulate and develop HR strategies deriving from organizational strategies to enhance the delivery of the unit’s specific objectives.
    • Lead on development of organizational policies, facilitate understanding of same and manage implementation to promote internalisation of organizational values.
    • Lead on and coordinate coaching and mentoring learning initiatives with emphasis on organization specific core competency requirements.
    • Work with HR team members to maintain statutory obligations (NSITF & ITF).
    • Lead on/collaborate with team members on management of discipline and the consequences arising as a result of infractions of organizational policies.
    • Lead on reviews/surveys to generate information on employee engagement and make recommendations as necessary for systems improvement.
    • Lead on organizational review processes.

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

    • First degree in Human Resource, Humanities or a Social Science discipline.
    • HR Certification (SPHRi, CIPM, SHRM) would be highly advantageous.
    • Master’s degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
    • Proven working experience as HR Manager or HR Executive.

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience, of which at least 3 years much have been in a managerial capacity.
    • Proven working experience as HR Manager, managing a medium scale business.

    • Result- oriented and self-driven with a clear focus on high quality and business profit.
    • Excellent leadership and managerial skills.
    • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
    • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
    • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
    • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian labour law and HR best practices
