Responsibilties
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth:
- The core responsibility is to design and drive the organization’s sales and marketing strategy.
- This includes identifying target markets (corporates, SMEs, retail), setting revenue targets, and developing clear go-to-market plans.

Corporate Sales & Client Acquisition
A major focus is securing corporate accounts—companies that enroll their staff into HMO plans. This involves:
- Leading high-level negotiations with HR and management teams
- Structuring competitive health plans and pricing models
- Driving proposals, presentations, and contract closures
- Expanding the organization’s client base across industries
Relationship Management & Retention
In the HMO space, retaining clients is just as critical as acquiring them. The Head ensures:
- Strong client engagement and satisfaction
- Timely resolution of service issues
- Regular business reviews with key accounts
- High renewal rates and reduced churn
Product Development & Market Positioning
They work closely with medical and operations teams to:
- Develop or refine health plans that meet market needs
- Ensure plans are competitive, compliant, and profitable
- Position the brand clearly in terms of value, network quality, and service delivery
Marketing & Brand Management
This includes overseeing all marketing efforts:
- Brand strategy and visibility
- Digital marketing campaigns and social media presence
- Market awareness initiatives and health campaigns
- Public relations and corporate communications
Team Leadership & Performance Management
The role involves managing the sales and marketing team:
- Setting targets and KPIs
- Coaching and mentoring team members
- Monitoring performance and driving accountability
- Building a high-performing, results-driven team
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
They constantly analyze:
- Competitor offerings and pricing
- Industry trends in healthcare and insurance
- Customer needs and feedback
This insight feeds into strategy and product improvement.
Revenue Management & Reporting
The Head is accountable for:
- Achieving revenue targets
- Forecasting sales performance
- Reporting to executive management
- Ensuring profitability of contracts
Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement
Given the healthcare context, the role also involves:
- Ensuring compliance with HMO regulations (e.g., NHIA guidelines in Nigeria)
- Engaging with healthcare providers, brokers, and partners
- Representing the organization at industry events.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 5 - 10 years experience.
