Overview:

Welcome2Africa International (W2A) is a leading investment and trade facilitation company focused on driving investment into key sectors of Nigeria and Africa, including agribusiness, energy, solid minerals, and maritime. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance and Strategy to lead our finance department and play a critical role in shaping and executing our strategic vision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investment banking, financial management, and strategic planning to help drive our investment and trade facilitation efforts forward.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
   • Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to develop and implement W2A’s overall strategic goals, with a strong focus on investment and trade facilitation.
   • Identify new market opportunities and financial trends that align with W2A\\\\\\\'s growth objectives and investment facilitation strategy.
   • Develop and execute financial strategies that support business expansion into key sectors such as agribusiness, energy, and solid minerals.
2. Financial Management and Reporting:
   • Oversee the preparation and management of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
   • Lead the development of detailed financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
   • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, both locally and internationally.
   • Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies, ensuring the financial sustainability of all projects.
3. Investment Banking and Trade Facilitation:
   • Leverage investment banking experience to design and manage investment deals, project financing, and capital raising initiatives.
   • Work closely with the Investment and Trade Facilitation team to structure investment opportunities for global and regional investors.
   • Develop partnerships with financial institutions, investors, and stakeholders to drive capital flows into key projects in Nigeria and Africa.
   • Provide financial advisory services for investors looking to enter the Nigerian and African markets.
4. Capital Raising and Investor Relations:
   • Manage relationships with investors, stakeholders, and partners to secure funding for key projects and initiatives.
   • Develop investment briefs, proposals, and reports to communicate opportunities to potential investors.
   • Foster and maintain strategic partnerships with investment banks, private equity firms, venture capitalists, and other financial institutions.
5. Operational Leadership:
   • Provide leadership to the finance and strategy teams, ensuring the efficient management of daily operations.
   • Develop and implement processes and systems that improve the financial performance and operational efficiency of the company.
   • Oversee performance management systems to drive accountability and excellence within the finance team.
6. Financial Analysis and Strategy Development:
   • Analyze financial data to support business decisions, including cost-benefit analysis, profitability assessment, and investment return analysis.
   • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and other business development opportunities to expand W2A’s portfolio.
7. Performance Management:
   • Lead the design and implementation of performance management systems, linking financial goals with departmental and organizational performance metrics.
   • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for finance and strategy team members.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or Master’s degree in Finance is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance, including 5+ years in investment banking, strategic finance, or corporate finance roles.
• Strong experience in structuring investment deals, capital raising, and financial modeling.
• Proven ability to manage financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management.
• Exceptional understanding of investment markets, trade facilitation, and economic development in Africa.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
• Experience in working with financial institutions, investors, and high-level stakeholders in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Zoho Finance, Excel, financial modeling platforms).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial strategies and investment opportunities to investors and stakeholders.
