Head of Audit at B. Adedipe Associates Limited (BAA)

Job Objective

• To oversee the internal audit function and provide guidance on risk management, internal controls, and compliance issues while also ensuring that the organization's financial and operational activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the internal audit team and ensure that audit objectives are met and the department runs smoothly.
• Develop and implement comprehensive audit plans that cover all areas of the organization, including financial, operational, and compliance audits.
• Document, and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls across the organization and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Monitors the organization's compliance with laws, regulatory standards, and internal policies and procedures.
• Oversee the execution of audits, and ensure that audits are conducted in accordance with professional standards and guidelines.
• Supervise and continuously improve the internal audit function by staying up-to-date with best practices, trends, and emerging risks.
• Identify and evaluate risks across the organization and recommend appropriate risk management strategies.

Requirements

• B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Economics, Statistics or other related disciplines (minimum of 2.2); Must be ICAN Certified, with further certifications in IFRS being an added advantage.
• At least 10 years of professional proven work experience, in a senior managerial position within the audit department. Knowledge of the manufacturing industry will be added advantage.
• He/she must be detailed and result oriented, with a demonstrable positive attitude and a high level of enthusiasm for the role and field.
• He/she must have proven practical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Must be proficient in accounting software packages
• Must have sound analytical, written, and communication skills.
• Not more than 40 years.
