Head of Account (Trade) at Nepal Energy

Description 

• Oversee the accounting of all trade-related transactions including imports, exports, swaps, and product exchange deals.
• Ensure accurate recording of cost of sales, landed costs, inventory valuation, and gross margin analysis.
• Supervise trade receivables and payables management, ensuring timely settlement and reconciliation.
• Liaise with traders, operations, finance, and external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, regulators) to support accurate reporting.
• Drive the implementation of internal controls, audit readiness, and process improvements in trade accounting.
• Monitor regulatory and tax implications of trading activities and ensure compliance.
• Provide regular management reports on trading performance, inventory positions, and financial exposures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) required.
• Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in accounting, with at least 4 years in trade accounting within the oil and gas or commodities sector.
• Strong knowledge of downstream operations, trading instruments, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
